Religion contradicts science and modern day society. We know that They exist, so religion can't be true.

| Lol, not all of it. Besides, when today's three monotheist religions, at least in the US, came to be, they didn't HAVE microscopes. Until the what, 1800s, they didn't HAVE taxonomy. They didn't HAVE super computers. They COULDN'T alter the genetic makeup of single cells. They didn't HAVE particle reactors. |

The world was created in 7 days/Billions of years Not Compatible.
And some people try to adjust parts of their religion that don't fit now, so they can carry on saying it's true.

Untrue, the Islamic golden age is what advanced science.
Besides the Qur'an has info about the development of the embryo in the mother's womb, the ancient Arabs could have never known that on their own. |

| Well, some of the parts of the Bible or Quran or whatever religious book you're reading is more trying to teach you morals or a difference between good or bad. One I particularly like in the Bible is the parable of the mustard seed. I don't know if this was the real meaning, but what I got out of it was that something that is small and unnoticeable can turn into something big and great. |

Let's not forget quite a few scholars thought up the concept of algebra. |

@Oreology, I've met Christians saying days have a different meaning for god because he is out of time. eg. 7 god days=Billions of human years
@mikey, There is also a part in the bible that says women who have s3x before marriage should be executed. And Good/Bad is an opinion.

@droid
There were many harsh punishments during that time. Executioners were brutal, and torture was worse. Imagine getting whipped with sharpened stone on your bare back. Long story short, Christians first developing the religion took every rule at heart. |

"The universe was created in 7 days."
A book written hundreds of years after it happened and hundreds of years before now says it so it must be true. Therefore Bilbo Baggins exists and magic is real. amirite?

Droid, the bible has been modified. I researched about it and a thing came up that some of it is not compatible with today's world.
Also, the matter of it being 'right/wrong' is what has become of society today. Surely, society has developed morals and principles that contradicts of religions, but that does not mean that religion is not compatible with society, it just means that society has developed it's own morals and principles over time that society itself is not compatible with religion.
Also, for the time period differences, it states that god is in a different dimension, and time is relative is it not? When it is 1 second in one dimension it might be 4 in the other.

| Ok, arguing isn't going to get us anywhere. Until we have solid evidence that God is real or not, no one is going to "win" this Christian v Atheist argument. |

Meh, as if I care. It's even written that the people of the book will decrease and no one in the Earth will believe.

"@mikey, There is also a part in the bible that says women who have s3x before marriage should be executed. And Good/Bad is an opinion."
And that would be where? (give a specific version, book, chapter, and verse(s)). |

"In the 7th commandment, it says do not commit adultery."
That's not adultery. Adultery is cheating on someone; it has nothing to do with marital status. Also, it doesn't say they should be executed. |

When will people understand that Catholic Christianity doesn't represent religions as a whole.
Seriously.
