Usually they can be slighty boring, I use to visit RPGs occasionally a while ago, though thats stopped.
They usually are all medival RPGs, would be nice to see a different scenario and a different time era. Maybe add a destroyed/Abandoned place or something as well. Or you could try making a Altruistic

Aboy, I know that. It's tested, but not the most unique. I appreciate all your thoughts on this, since most of you simply answered that RPGs are boring and overused and overused time period (Medieval). (Via Mode)
Now, I think that I know of a good way to implement inventories and the in-game economy, how about the combat system? I know I've received and there are a lot of methods, but I ask you, what would be the most innovative and most unique/creative way of creating combat, in an RPG game.
Fast-paced skill-based would be preferable.

| I would make it auto attack by default and then have some other interface to select skills. How you do this interface will make it unique. I can't answer that question for you, because then it wouldn't be unique would it? :) |

Sure. Just start throwing out some wacky orientations, designs, or behaviors and I can try to help piggy back to get some ideas flowing. It would be shameful for me to come up with an idea for you though :) Just start throwing some things out there.
Some starting points: Strength of attack, chance of hitting, kind of attack, block chance, etc. |

| Go to a person to talk. Talk to them. Enter battle - Get teleported to a confined area. Kill monster - Get teleported back. |

If this hasn't been covered. Rpg's on roblox is just some exp havertising...it's not even farming anymore when people spend 4 boring hours of killing the same looking thing over and over only to never hit a lvl cap for either players or emenies.

I do hate the linear experience progression.
Makes levelling up too fast and pretty much the same at all levels.

We are capable of creating something excellent. We have the potential but nobody except the Zero Studios members know it, and maybe some people outside of Zero Studios.

Any alternatives? Probably one that is more unique and would be seamlessly integrate-able.
Basically, think of the WILDEST, CRAZIEST, MOST CREATIVE idea of a leveling system, since I have no imagination.

| A really cool idea would be a turn based RPG on roblox, like Final Fantasy and you can either play alone, or play with a party of 4-5 friends and stuff. With an in depth story, preferably job classes to add more depth. Idk, but I would find that cool. |

| It is pretty boring to have just a medival RPG, especially if it has like NO storyline at all! I'm just glad that most people, me being one of them, are taking non-linear approaches and making big plans for RPGs that are completely different. One example of an extremely different and non-linear RPG that isn't finished yet is Rebuilding Society, an RPG I'm gonna be making soon that takes place in a post-apocalyptic environment. I also kind of want mine to be unique in how it has an ACTUAL story, as well as having PvP and free-play, like in most normal MMORPGs. |
