Why do you believe in god?
I'm not trying to be disrespectful or anything here. It's a serious question.
The only reason that I used to be a Christian was because my parents believed it and taught it to me. It seemed foolish to think that there wasn't a god, because, 1) My parents believe it so it must be right, and 2) I didn't know anything else. I had no idea that there were theories that made lots of sense and explained how everything came to be logically. Once I saw these theories I finally saw how illogical a giant sky wizard was. |

1: Natural causes cannot envolope eternity (I refer to the creation of the Universe), something supernatural must have been the beginning. Something that ignores the laws of eternity. 2: Christianity is the most historically backed up religion (in the case of Jesus). |

1: You're wrong
2: Actually you're wrong here. Jesus was definitely a living person but there is absolutely no evidence that he had any supernatural powers of any sort. The bible is full of logical fallacies and wrong things that they believed back then that we know are wrong now. If an omnipotent being guided the people writing the bible, wouldn't it have been perfect and accurate? |

1: I'm right 2: Logical fallacies are the result of mistranslations and misinterpretation. And about the historical proof of supernatural powers, we do have witness accounts. Sadly they are biased toward Jesus (likely through conversion at the sight of a miracle) and cannot be counted as historically reliable. I believe them though. |

Logical fallacies due to mistranslations?
I think not.
You're just trying to come up with excuses. |

Okay, I am a Christian, and I don't want to preach so I'll be brief.
I believe in God because I believe that there must be another being who created us. Christians believe that God created everything and everyone. In honesty, I believe in God and science at the same time. Who's to say that god didn't decide for us to evolve. I don't care if you generalize me into a category that also includes idiots who stand on street corners rioting about who can marry. I believe in God because I do, and no one will take him away from me.
