20th post (bottom of the page). Basically he flames me for giving my opinion to his already flame-filled response to the OP of the thread. The only person attacking anyone is the thread is Sorcus. It's downright disrespectful to the community to have an administrator attack the users for giving a reasonable and argued opinion on something that has been released.
Hypocrisy at its very finest. GG Sorcus. |

Your whole argument is based on the idea that "built from scratch" is better and that the ROBLOX users that they are targeting with this Template are old enough to understand scripting. Both are false. You didn't create Lua, you didn't create ROBLOX Studio, but you still use them. This template is a tool for younger kids to be able to "put together" maps, even if they don't have the scripting knowledge that older kids can attain. They're trying to get some of the kids who usually only play games to actually build their own games.
I don't think it's fair that you call his post 'flaming' or 'hypocritical.' He explained what it was that he disagreed with, and overall he did it in a more respectful manner than most users could.
The closest thing he said to a personal attack was "can't hear you over all your QQ", and that's just Sorcus' personality. The rest was a logical argument against what you posted. |

What Merely said.
Although I do agree that they should highlight Studio and scripting a bit more—some people that come to ROBLOX think that it's restricted to only stamper tools. |

There will be more scripting resources when ROBLOX starts welcoming the developers in. |

Sorcus isn't mature when it comes to discussion, which makes me never had respect for him. He doesn't even listen to valid points without spamming some random crap or linking to a weird decal.

| @GreenDay As I pointed out, the only semi-off topic thing he said was that QQ sentence, the rest was entirely off topic and relevant. |

"or linking to a weird decal."
Ah, there. I have to agree with that.
While I do think Sorcus listens to our arguments and can actually make a valid point, I dislike the way he keeps using decals. In fact, I dislike the way so many people on the ROBLOX forums use decals.
This is a forum, not an image board. There are plenty of image boards out there, but ROBLOX isn't one, and these decals are frankly annoying. I don't want to have to follow a link to read random text on a random image. |

@GigsD4X
Yeah, of course, duh.
So the only people you could find who think you can only use the stamper tool on ROBLOX don't even play ROBLOX.
Amazing.
I somehow declare your citation as somehow unreliable and somehow ask you to somehow provide a better citation, kk? |

@ Julien, rest in peace sire, as I wouldn't use decal on you. Its much easier to reply with a decal to someone who just doesn't even read what you type and keeps posting everywhere you post. Just saying.
Also at the QQ sentence - I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't someone I knew from scripters. Aboy5643 is talented. You guys, in general are TALENTED. I am saying use that talent! I don't deny it. I didn't start coding until I was 20. You guys are so far ahead of me right now that it aint even funny. If you think front page games suck. Change it! Show how far good quality games of ROBLOX can go. Don't quit in the middle or have an incomplete thing that people can't have fun with and say the users are playing crappy games. Its UPTO you to enchant them into your game.
In this regard, Stravant, Anaminus, Crazyman32, StickMasterLuke and a bunch of others have my utter respect.

*cough*
I have a name, bro.
Anyway, my point is that it is impossible to get good games near the front page. (Or difficult.) This site is populated with kids, and you have to know that kids don't look for quality. They look for what is appealing to them... so we either make a bad game, or let the bad games go to them.

"Anyway, my point is that it is impossible to get good games near the front page"
Catalog Heaven has been on the front page for more or less the last 6 months.
But yes, it is hard when kids are the determining factor in what gets on the front page. |

So does the rest of the gaming world. Yes, it is hard. Quite hard. But yet, good quality games do reach the people. And people like Crazyman32 and Littozinnamon continue to prove that its possible in ROBLOX. Anyone who doesn't persist until they succeed are quitters or don't care enough about their game/idea. Just saying.

@GD Or you can make a game that isn't just of "high quality" but also fun. A fun high-quality game. Like crazyman32's.
You have to figure out how to put it together in a way that makes it entertaining and not just pretty and efficient. |

I put (difficult) after that, Merely. Everyone should realize that to get popular games, we need appealing genres. That's difficult to do when ROBLOX aims to a lower age group every update they make.

@Sorcus
Every game maker persists. But uh... let's look at the diagram here:
1. Free modeled game 2. Copy an ad 3. Bid a bunch of tix 4. Front page
And then, to appeal you, crazyman's game got there because he is talented and people regularly check his status, his games for updates and much more. He doesn't need ads.

The age skew has remained the same if not growing towards older users actually. Assumptions, don't help anyone. And saying your game is only attractive to a 16 year old and not a 10 year old while being on a kid's site isn't really an argument.

*Templates *Stamper *Terrain
Please explain how this is directed at an older audience. And I never said my game was appealing to 16 year olds. I said that it's hard to aim at both age groups.

Okay firstly, I consider myself as a game designer. And hard problems are what you solve as a game designer. A lot of games can be quite appealing to both 10 and 16 year old users.
Secondly our movement towards easier to build stuff isn't hampering anything. So I don't understand the argument here. You don't want it? Don't use it. What's the problem?

Your movement to make things easier is causing the quality of games to go down. Yes, game designers will push on to get games to the front page, but it gets difficult. Unnecessary effort. If kids really want to make games, they can learn. It's never too young to try. The point of designing games is also to MAXIMIZE REVENUE. So, we tend to aim at both age groups, or in the middle. That's harder to do as the gap increases.
