Say you have a unique game, one that doesn't fit into any of the current game genres. There would be an "other" genre, and everyone who chose "other" would be grouped together. For your game, if you chose "other," you could choose a subgenre. Example:
Genre is other: [whatever I want to write as the genre here]
Support? Great.
No support? Please give a valid reason.

"Support? Great.
No support? Please give a vlid reason."
So what you're saying is, it's okay if people agree without a valid reason, but it's not okay if they disagree without a valid reason? |

If people agree, they don't have anything to add to the idea. But if they don't agree, they should say why.

That sir, sounds stupid, just saying. That's like saying,
"Do you all like my idea?"
"Well, no..but,"
"Tell me why."
"..Why?"
"Because you have to add to the idea."
"I like it!"
"Great! You don't have to add to the idea." |

marble, your complaint has nothing to do with my suggestion here. it's just something I standardly say, because people often say no support without reasoning.

| Fine, how about, no support because they can just pick the genre it most closely ressembles. |

@marble
If someone has a skate game, what genre would that most closely match? They removed the skate park genre.

| How about town and city? Because you know, you probably won't find a skatepark out in the desert. |

Marble, If people support, they are already contributing to the construction of the idea, by saying the idea is good. This is because if you support, it says that that person wants the thing made. More supports can prove average popularity. Weather they contribute more by giving constructive critisism is optional, as they already have.
If people do not support without giving a valid reason, they are not contributing to the construction of the idea; It could actually be practically called flaming. And if they have not contributed, then that means the OP cannot make it better; something core in S&I. If people support, the OP may not actually be able to make it better, as it is perfect.
There's your answer.
@OP: I would also like to see if I can search for sub-genres. Puzzle games I love. But support, I guess. |
