Welcome to my first idea that I hope will be implemented! but away with the formalities. My suggestion reguards the word noob. I've seen this word misused and overused so many times. 'noob' is the short version of 'newbie' meaning somebody new. but I find 'noob' used as a word that describes somebody annoying. The thing i'm trying to get at, is that the word 'noob' should then be unusable, being censored no matter if it's 0's or how long it is. It was taken in by young kids who don't know the meaning of the word. but that's just my take on it. |

| Noob, or newbie, shouldn't be blocked, sure, it causes people to stop insulting, but it also removes being able to call people newb quicker. |

| Well, what I mean is that it is just used wrong and there should be some system against the wrong usage. That was the only idea that popped into my head at the time. I just want it to stop being one of THOSE words. |

Breaking News:
Noob does actually NOT come from the word "Newbie".
Noob comes from Mortal Kombat II. Where a character, Noob Saibot, had the ability to teleport. This frustrated players to no end, causing them to yell out "Get back here, noob!" Noob Saibot's name came from the game creator's last names.
Ed Boon [Someone] Tobias
Noob effectively means idiot, and only idiot. The fact that its very similar to "newb" is a mere unfortunate coincidence.

'Noob' is the insult.
the one you're thinking of is 'Newb' being short for newbie, not 'noob'.
Although I support your idea. :3 |

Defining 'Noob' Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared to encounter them in the wild if needed. |

I would like to challenge watevs on that. Noob is swearing, As swearing is merely any word used beyond its original context.
Which makes awesome and amazing swearing. Awesome means "has awe" or "worthy of awe", but now means "brilliant" Amazing means "dazed." Now, it's "brilliant." Epic means "of high scale." But now, it means "brilliant." Fabulous could be considered swearing in this sense, aswell. Swearing doesn't have to be negative (It usually is, though.)
The same goes to noob. Started as a fictional name, the original context, Turned into an insult, Swearing, Became an insult and a shortening of newb, Swearing of swearing.
So yes, a noob is a newb, as well as an "idiot". Idiot's swearing, aswell. :3. So, I declare your nice pointer nice albeit not relevant.
@OP: What will people use instead? They'll use retard. Or imbicile. Etc.
Be happy it's a nice and simple word that has barely any emotional effect whatsoever. |

frozengaia,
"Noob is swearing, As swearing is merely any word used beyond its original context."
That's not swearing, that's colloquialization and semantic change. Simpe modern day adaptations.
A swear word is "Offensive or disgusting by accepted standards of morality and decency." and/or "Offensive to moral principles; repugnant."
--
"Which makes awesome and amazing swearing. Awesome means "has awe" or "worthy of awe", but now means "brilliant""
That's the same thing .-.
--
"Amazing means "dazed." Now, it's "brilliant." Epic means "of high scale." But now, it means "brilliant." Fabulous could be considered swearing in this sense, aswell. Swearing doesn't have to be negative (It usually is, though.)"
See 2 above...
--
"The same goes to noob. Started as a fictional name, the original context, Turned into an insult, Swearing,"
Who told you this definition of swearing? o__0
--
"Became an insult and a shortening of newb, Swearing of swearing."
Noob already was an insult and an entire stand-alone word cannot really become an abbreviation :/
--
"So yes, a noob is a newb, as well as an "idiot". Idiot's swearing, aswell. :3. So, I declare your nice pointer nice albeit not relevant."
The OP claimed "Noob" came from "Newbie". I pointed out that he was wrong. Complete relevance.

frozengaia,
Also amazing and dazed have no relation, as far as I'm concerned. Amazing was recorded as a sense of "wonderful" in 1704.

And wonderful can be dated back to wonder, which is a synonym of awe, a semi-synonym of dazed.
It's called paradoxical thought, if I remember correctly. This weird way of thinking states that everything is an opinion, everything is pointless, God created itself after the destruction of itself, and that we live in an infinite cross-dimensions at once.
Using this way of thinking would prove that mostly every word is swearing. :/. It's actually a very epic way of thinking. :3
