Aside audiophiles, and other crap I don't know much about. But an average consumer like me.
I remember back then in the country I used to live in; my dad's car had a audio deck that just only PLAYED cassettes, and CD's where just catching up! Man oh man did it had something genuine about those clear plastic boxes with wound up black magnetic film in them. I use to remember how I would try to spin the tape around in the cassette with my little pinky finger... He would have a huge stack of them in the car to play.
But now he has Itunes; he just picks out the song he likes without buying the whole entire album, listens to the 30 second sample, then buy it. Where it used to be where he would go to a music stores that is 1 hour away from us and browse through the massive aisle of cassettes and CD's.
But to me it's kinda like a E-book compared to a real book, and I personally like tangible something to hold a physical copy.
There's something freaking cool about it than just clicking with your mouse/thatscrollthingontheipod/oranythingwithtouchscreen to find and play.
(Guess what, I like to ramble, omgomgomg) |

I have Backatown by Trombone Shorty (I don't even know why I have this), Metallica by Metallica from when I was big on Metallica, And All That Could Have Been by Nine Inch Nails (sadly not the deluxe version because the Still disc is amazing), The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails, and i'm supposed to be getting The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails soon.

CD's are still dominant vinyl has made a massive comeback and are very common cassettes not so much, but some people (like myself) still love cassettes how about 4/8- tracks, phonograph records, or reel to reel tapes? |

1. mp3s themselves have little value, buying digitally is a rip off 2. with physical formats, you have something you can look at, and is actually nice 3. okay. have fun when your hard-drive fails and you didn't back anything up |

I buy vinyl all the time!
Though I'll admit that listening to FLAC files on Foobar2K is much more convenient. |
