NOTICE: This is not a Rules thread. If you wanted the rules, click the thread made by a moderator at the top of this post with a pinned reply named "THE RULES".
INTRODUCTION
With the sudden amount of people immigrating to OT and being violently backlashed and sent back, I've decided to at least give them a chance. This guide will cover how to first make it in OT, then become a well known poster, and finally achieving the rank of Mod Status. I CAN NOT GUARANTEE everything in this thread will work, but this is all from my knowledge of posting in this forum for four years. Also, if you came to tl;dr, then this probably isn't the guide for you.
SECTION I: HOW NOT TO BE STUPID
One of the main reason most people are rejected is for the fact that they are being what most OTers condone as stupid. In this section, I will teach you- well, how not to be stupid.
Chapter I: What and what not to write
So, what type of threads will give you the most flamers and trolls? Most things that you might feel as innocent will be utterly destroyed by OT. Here are a few examples:
"Stop Bullying"- This is considered more of one of those faic.book teenage girl threads, and will not be accepted.
"Info on My Group/Anything Clan Related" - This. Goes. In. C&G. I can not list the amount of times I've had to put that on a thread like this. It gets ludicrously annoying.
"Guys visit my youtube channel" - Unless you give us a good reason why to visit it, we're not going. And that's that. Just don't try it.
"Here's a story I wrote" - If your not expecting a shipload of tl;drs coming for you the instant after you make this post, then don't make it. As simple as that.
"Copy and pasting the rule sheet" - No. Don't do it. It's the stupidest of stupid threads you could possibly make.
Chapter II: Crossing the Line and how to get out of it
Lets assume we're in the scenario where you have made one of the above mentioned threads. Don't worry, there is still a way to get out of it, and its quite simple: Don't reply. Abandon the boat and let the ship sink. Whatever you do, DO NOT FIGHT THEM. If you've made a thread like this there's a good chance you have no idea how to fight against flamers and trolls yet, and if you don't, then its a good chance your posts will be ignorant. This is bad and will not only attract more flamers and trolls, but people from outside both circles as well.
Chapter III: The difference between an upstanding forum citizen and a minimod
It's completely fine to report unruly posts, however reporting them and then replying with a post that says you reported them? Not only is it unneeded, the OP will know it was you reporting them and you'll have a whole lot of hate on your hands.
Chapter IV: Use Grammar
This Is Not Grammar.
this is not grammar
tis is nt grammer
This is grammar. Master it, and use it, and you will become successful. It's generally accepted by most forumers to "talk like this" after they have reached 10k, but that is the only exception.
Chapter V: Watch and Learn
It is a good strategy to simply lay back and spectate the posts that come through the forum and see which ones are accepted and which are not. People who do this are called "lurkers" and most end up becoming famous OTers. It is also good to "study" the styles of posts made by popular OTers, as their style has clearly been accepted into the community.
SECTION II: BECOMING A POPULAR FORUMER
In this section, I will teach you how to protect your account from bans, how to "tap" threads for posts, and the famous styles of writing posts for both genders as well as a few other things.
Chapter I: Becoming an OTer
If you are still new but have mastered the arts I have showed you in the previous section, then it should be easy for you now to become an OTer. In OT, there are two specific "milestones" for becoming an OTer. These occasionally have exceptions, but for the most part they're pretty solid. First, the 5k- this is a sign that you've now truly become an OTer. Second, the 10k- an achievement done by few, it will likely keep your place as a "popular" or "famous" OTer. You can also simply just be an active forumer, and quickly people will begin to accept you.
Chapter II: How to combat Flamers and Trolls
To combat a Flamer, the rules are easy: don't be ignorant. Use correct facts against them. Think out your post to find the best "comeback" against their previous post. Whoever first makes and ignorant remark, or declares that they've stopped posting, has essentially lost the argument.
Combating a Troll is a bit more difficult, but its very possible. Just do something that not even the troll would think of. This is a tactic common among people to fight hackers- they find weaknesses and "glitches" with the things they are hacking in and use them to their advantage to make the hacker leave. It is very much the same for trolling. One example is to repeatedly call the troll a "bot". It is an ignorant remark, but as long as you are consciously aware that it is then you are technically trolling them back. Eventually the troll will get out of its disguise and devolve into a flamer, which gives you the upper hand. By that point, simply continue to troll them out.
Chapter III: Protecting your account against strikes and bans
Sometimes you make mistakes. Bad ones. And mostly they turn into permanent bans on your account. However, there are ways of giving your account "defense" against bans. One, of course, is by buying BC. In order to not have to refund your membership, game companies often just decrease the time for bans, if not remove them completely. This is mostly the case with monthly memberships.
If you don't want to buy your way out, then there is another way: getting "successful reports". Everytime you report something, the mods check it to see if it is a legitimate report. If it is, then they call it a "successful report". Later, if you get banned, they will often check how many "successful reports" you have and adjust your ban time based on that.
Chapter IV: "Tapping" Threads
This is a common tactic done by most forumers with a higher post count. What they do is either find or create a thread that would be suitable for bumping, and bump it constantly. An example of this would be a thread I made:
http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=71295269
At the time of me making this thread, the thread had 358 replies- a majority of that being from me. Since it is a post that has "a certain view requirement for a certain objective", I have to right to bump it to keep it on the front page. A more upfront example would be this thread: Since it won't do any good to OTers in the back pages, I have the technical right to tap it, as well does everyone else.
Chapter V: Foruming Styles
There are a few famous forumnig "styles" that have developed over the years, mostly just to put similar styles together. There happen to be separate ones for both genders, too.
For females, the main style is the "Art of Fuzzyperson". It is used by a variety of OTers, to name a few being PuffyPerson, deletion, thatsawesome, and princessmidna. This style has been perfected into sounding like a teenage girl who knows her way around the internet. Not the faic.book kind, obviously. It comes close to ODing in a few occasions, but most of the time it does not.
For males, there are two ways: "DDude" and "Tatoberian". Ddude is simply, well, basically just the male's version of Fuzzyperson's only this one was actually created first. As for Tatoberian, the style is more so "Serve and Protect"- they are sometimes considered to be like flamers, however instead provide feedback on "Why it was stupid". They do come to accept OTers (unlike flamers), however are very picky upon those they select.
SECTION III: ACHIEVING MOD STATUS
This is going to be short, as there is not much to talk about. Becoming a mod is ludicrously hard for forumers to do, but is possible and has happen. There is certain "rules" you have to follow to become one:
1. Do not ask to be a mod. If you do, it pretty much erases your chances of being one completely 2. Be 18 or over 3. Have a very high amount of successful reports and a very small amount of bans 4. Actually help other forumers and be kind.
If a Roblox mod sees that you have fulfilled all of these things, he will recommend you to the Admins. They will then send you e.m.a.i.l asking if you would like to be interviewed for the job, or something along those lines. This all may sound easy, but take in mind that it is really crazy hard. As proof, not many forumers have ended up being promoted to mods, the only one I know being mfsoccerfan65, who after years of being a forumer on Sports ended up becoming a moderator for a short time before pursuing other interests.
Well, there you have it folks. Try to keep your tl;dr posts short and bump the thread. If you have any questions about anything discussed here, reply to this thread or PM me.

Just don't be stupid. Don't do anything major or with an opinion until later.

I am for voicing your opinion but normally the newcomers have some pretty stupid and silly ones. Most people that wait see that this place isn't the place for their opinion. Once those people leave normally the new OTers aren't half as bad.
