Since 2004, television has taken a turn for the worst, I blame the networks for stop being creative and turning to a "less costly" or considered "cheapo" way of creating something for kids to watch.
Nickelodeon: This channel, was at the top during the 90's streaming full of great shows with wonderful ideas, which made 90's children have what you would call, a better childhood. Nowadays, the channel is filled up with garbage, and the thing is... Nickelodeon is desperate. They've run out of creative ideas, so they keep making cheap sitcoms instead of good cartoons. Spongebob is sort of a "crutch" for Nick, they will suck that show dry and cast it aside when they find a better idea, but they can't because they don't give shows enough time to become popular. The reason they are putting out so much garbage like Big Time Rush or Victorious is because they want to sell CDs to make more profit, aside from that, they are lazy. Nick might eventually turn back into the wonderful channel it once was when they decide that they are pretty much a copy of Disney channel.
Cartoon Network: The name of the channel shows what greatness it once had back in the day, so I don't have to go into detail about it, but anyways... what they turned into today is a big slap in the face to 90's kids. First off, they stopped being funny. They keep the same randomness of a cartoon, but it's not turning out the way it should. In my opinion, kids don't really care. They don't realize how bad shows are turning out now. They also stopped making good cartoons and replacing them with anime. The thing about anime is that it's less costly to create, showing a sign of utter laziness inside the studio. They also keep making LIVE ACTION shows, which is like, what the heck CN? IT'S CALLED CARTOON NETWORK. That's pretty much it about CN, other than the fact that Gumball has a similar plot to another show which I wont talk about.
Disney: Oh gosh, I don't want to even go there. Disney is a trainwreck today. It makes a slideshow of crappy pictures look good. I swear, Disney is the reason why there is so much drama today. They want money by selling records off the terrible shows they are producing. And in terms of a cartoon called Gravity Falls.. why the heck is there so much free mason symbolism in it? They will throw sitcoms and dramas together that kids shouldn't have diddly squat to do with. Thing is, they don't really care about cartoons. Most of the shows they air are about teenagers in some live action garbage that ends up getting a second season, but what makes me confused is why kids like that. The audience is a fake sound effect to laugh at a cheap overused joke guys... Seriously.
Adult humor has been taken out of cartoons these days, which makes kids grow up a bit ya know? I'm not going to watch a brainless filthy disqusting show about a Sponge who drags a couch over a squid's foot ripping off the toe nail.. That's not adult humor, that's just plain gross. And kids laugh at it. That's the sad part.
If I missed anything, then post in the comments and I'll reply about it. Thank you.

Eventually, people like me or anyone who cares about television will get something good back. Original ideas are the way to go.

| The series was supposed to end when the movie came out, the original directors quit for that reason. But they kept it going, because they have no ideas. |

I always had I knack that they change the writers or something. The series was so good before the movie, in fact, I was watching a few of the older episodes that I watched when I was a kid, and a laughed alot compared to when I watched them as a kid. I never laugh at the new ones, though. Mainly because the jokes are stupid/gross. I recently read that studies show that after watching an episode of Spongebob, 4-6 year-olds have lack of attention. That's how bad the show has gotten. |

I say out with the garbage and in with the creative people who would turn the network a profit, and keep people entertained!

| Avatar was not like what CN is doing with shows like Bakugan or something like that. Avatar was actually a good series that I enjoyed and Korra will probably be a breath of fresh air for viewers. Unless they screw that up too. |

| Well, so far, LOK [Legend of Korra] is turning out to be a decent show. Season 1 hooked me, though the ending wasn't much of a cliffhanger, so I don't know what to expect in season 2. |

this is the one thing here I will disagree with you on |

I wish they would stop creating spinoffs from movies. For example.
Kung Fu Panda
Penguins of Madagascar
There's probably another one.. |

I agree with you on SO MANY LEVELS.... The good shows are gone. They completely ruined spongebob. They're ending "The Fairly Odd Parents" (possibly) on November. If they go through with it, it will be another great show lost.... But I do remember back in '10 they had a rerun of pretty much all the good cartoons that were ended/discontinued/cancelled. It brought back somewhat memory and made feel like I was 7 again. I will cherish these great shows, and the sitcoms. [Teen Titans, That's So Raven, House of Blue, Ed Edd and Eddy, Codename teenage kids next door, Camp Lazlo, Suite life of Zack and Cody (original), American Dragon Jake Long, Jackie Chan adventures, Pokemon diamond, All the original Scooby Doo's, Kim Possible, Drake & Josh, Jimmy Neutron, Tom & Jerry tales, Teen Spies, and so on.... |

| Some anime shows are actually less costly to create, I've seen a few that have lazy scene cuts. |

I'd worship you OP. I agree 100% about Nick never giving it's shows any time to become good and how they use sponge-bob to stay supported because it's the only popular show they have on there. Not to mention they recycle old shows such as DBZ and Power rangers.
