| SO i gave my onix a HP up in pokemon diamond. its HP was 30 before giving it it, and after i gave it the HP up it still is at 30! what a stupid ripoff at least boost it to 31. why didnt it raise? btw onix is level 16 |

| Yeah... level Onix up. It should gain more than the average HP boost. Either that or Onix's HP EV's are above 100. |

That isn't how it works. HP Up (and any stat booster for that matter) gives ten Effort Points, not direct stat boosts. When your Pokémon deafeats another Pokémon, yours gets a few effort points in a few stats depending on what the fainted Pokémon yields (1, 2, or 3 points). Four effort points provides one extra stat in that category. However, you won't see the effects of effort values until your Pokémon levels up.
By the way, I did some calculations, and have concluded that you are lying about your Onix's HP. The least an Onix at level 16 can have is 37. |

| also. how much does each stat increase by when you level up normally saying you had no bonus EVs? its different for each pokmon |
