In another topic I heard such rampant ignorance about this that I feel I should educate WWC. So, gather round kiddies, and listen up.
CO2, or "Carbon Dioxide" is a result of many processes, such as burning of fossil fuels. This gas traps heat in our atmosphere, heating the earth. It's natural and good for the atmosphere, to an extent. Burning of oil has caused an excess, and while the earth would have naturally warmed anyway due to a natural cycle, we've made it a lot warmer, a lot faster, then it should be.
We can live with a hotter earth, but it isn't preferable. Many species would die, flooding would result, and we'd likely need to live underground or farther from the equator to avoid burning to death. |

| Global Warming is natural, we might be speeding it up, but it is going to happen anyway. It's inevitable, and you want us to stop it? |

I was expecting something a bit more educated.
Come back with an argument that reeks less of Al Gore. |

Sinii is right it is a natural process, but us humans are speeding it up by burning fossil fuels, and releasing carbon dioxide. Also by over-producing we are wasting our natural resources and in turn causes war, and death.
This is serious. |

| Sinii, we're also burning a limited resource until it's dried up until another few million years passes, and we're also increasing the severity of it. By the time global warming goes on for as long as it will have taken to reach it's extent today naturally, it'll be twice as bad. It'll also get less cool if we don't stop burning fossil fuels. |

| The resource is limited, it would have disappeared anyway. As well as global warming, it's natural and would happen whether humans existed or not. You can't just tell us to stop. |

| Sinii, that doesn't make a difference. If there's a fire in your house, you don't throw wood and gas on it because you think your house burning is inevitable, you do your best to put the fire out. |

| That's different, the fire can be put out. But global warming can't. |

| It is the same, it is like our house, we need to try and save it. |

| Sinii, we at least need to try. If the earth burns, do you want it to be when we as a species are fighting our hardest to survive, or with our heads buried in the sand? |

Now lets not get too naive. If we wanted no pollution, then everyone should stop breathing. Now thats silly.
But why do we turn to these sources of energy like coal and oil? Because its efficient and abundant. Is raising their prices just so green energy seems cheap really the answer? No. You have to make those alternative energy sources better than coal and oil all together. |

Basically anything that breaths causes climate change.
The Earth has gone through many climate changes before. During the early 1600s, there was a mini ice age. Temperatures dropped 2 degrees which resulted in long winters. Thanks to European colonization of the Americas when their deceases killed off the Native Americans who where burning forests to clear land for themselves. |

| This is why America should become energy independent soon. That way we can get defense and energy out of the way, so we can tackle the environmental issues more efficiently. |

| One can argue that climate change is non-existant, but it would be a tricky debate. |

| Okay, just going to give up now. Evidently money is more important then the environment. I can't argue with that kind of apathy, as you wouldn't care either way. |

| the majority of Carbon Dioxide entering the atmosphere is human generated, mainly from manufacturing factories. |
