I don't always feel like programming. Sometimes when I finish with a big project I want to take a break. But recently I seem to want to spend all my time coding. It doesn't really matter what, as long as I'm solving a problem I want to solve.
Do you feel this way? Or do you only program to accomplish very specific tasks, because that's the best way to go about it? |

| When I have a deadline, it's a chore and I hate programming when it's what I have to do. Well, unless if it's fun. |

When I first started learning, I was able to program for about seven hours on end, but recently I'm unable to surpass three hours. As long as I short take breaks, I'm able to get through a long project.
I don't like it when I have a strict deadline, but I do seem to accomplish more.
I think it depends on the person. |

I don't like deadlines either...
As long as I like what I'm making, I'll be motivated to continue working.

As long as I have school... I always want to play. As long as I have nothing to do in the holidays... I always want to do work.

I feel like if I do not code everyday...I'm wasting my time.
I also feel bad about leaving some projects behind. (Like my Area filler thingy for Computercraft's Mining turtles)
So I have the same feeling pretty much. |

I've been able to finish projects, but I have about 100+ that are unfinished. (That's not an exaggeration).
I just finished one today, and one yesterday. Unfortunately, I got another idea for the one I finished yesterday to make it much better... :/ Instead, I am starting another project.

| I am a fantastic at doing all the planning for a project , starting it , then stopping after one session and never going back to it. |

| Unlike almost all of you guys, I have very little problems with unfinished projects. The only way I will start a project is if I am reasonably sure I want to do it and will finish it. |

@Seranok
Can I "examine" your brain for a moment so I can determine how you actually manage to finish projects...? |

Sure.
I think about a project for a while. I think I want to write a program that automatically updates the catalog table in Catalog Heaven.
I think about if it's possible. I think about what language I would write it in. I think about if I should make it. If the idea lasts more than say a week then I will keep it in the back of my mind until I start. |

| The reason I operate like I do is because I regretted starting all these projects and not finishing them (I'm talking about years ago). So now whenever I think about a project, I brainstorm, I think about it, and I decide if it's worth making. Then I make it. |

| I do feel like programming a lot of the time, it's juat that a lot of the time I also feel like playing games. When I don't feel like programming I play games, and when I don't feel like either I think of something fun to program, which rapidly becomes less fun after a few hours which is why I have 156 unfinished roblox places/models and quite a few unfinished c++ projects. |

| hmmmm... i used to feel that i should be programming/working on a project during any free time or else I'm just wasting my time doing nothing productive. I still hate wasting time not being productive, but since roblox started having issues for me a bit over a month ago i haven't really done much coding... But that's somewhat good, now i do a lot more drawing and play a crap ton of Toribash at the same time n_n |

| I usually play GTA San Andreas and/or GTA San Andreas Multiplayer when I'm not programming. |

"Is it normal to want to program all the time?"
If it is normal or isn't normal, it's still unique. You look at an average kid/teen they'll probably be playing minecraft until they need to go to bed. When you look at someone like you you think how they're future will turn out.
