I'm trying to make weapons with local parts to make animations smoother and reduce network traffic jamming and "arm movement lag" you have when moving the camera around on first person mode.

however, it leads to artifacts like missing weapon slides/magazines/bolts/younameit.
is there a way to have parts displayed to everyone on the server but a specific player without having to use local parts on everyone, like what is done with character parts and hats on first person?

Any parts inside the player are not displayed when thy are in first person mode.

inside the player or the player's character? character parts(except for tools) aren't displayed either - which is odd

also - parts inside the player wouldn't display to everyone else either because they're not on workspace.

Just use welds and put the tool into a model in workspace?

Any parts that are inside the character and not inside a tool inside the character will not appear for the owner of the character in first person mode.

Arceus is correct. This is a great method to make viewmodels/worldmodels in Roblox.
