If anyone needs help building any item try not to use free models. If you do there may be some lag. Also some people put in "Viruses". The viruses do things such as lag, kill visitors, destroy bricks, and much more. Believe me, you don't want lag or viruses. Here are a few usefull tips for what to do and what not to do: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question #1 "Who do I ask for help with building?"--Before you ask anyone you should read the ROBLOX Wiki. It has many helpfull tips on all of your questions. If you can't find anything relating to your problem, go to Builderman's page and click 'send message'. You should be brought to a screen called "Builderman's Help Center". Search "building help". If all else fails, ask a person who has BC, TBC or OBC (BC members have more places to "experiment" with so they know a little more than free users). You can also ask some one that has been around longer (the longer they have been here on ROBLOX the more experience they have). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question #2 "My brick is to big/small! How do I resize it?"--First start out by inserting a brick. I know what I said--no free models--but ROBLOX made the first bricks so they are fine. When you are in your place click "tools" in the uper left-hand corner of your screen by insert, fullscreen, and exit. After you have opend up Tools there will be a toolbar on the top of your screen with a bunch of tools. Scroll over each item until you have found "resize" (if you cant find it use the tape measure to resize your brick). The resize tool is a blue tool. Click the brick you are working on. Blue dots should apear! Click and drag those dots to resize your brick. Pull the dots away from the brick to make it larger and vise versa. Congradulations!!! You just resized your first brick. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question #3 "I need my brick to be even smaller like...a plate but I dont know how. Help please."--Look in properties. Properties is a Toolbar that pops up on the side. If you dont see it go to the very top of your screen. You should se File-Edit-Veiw and so on. Click veiw and scrol down to Properties. Click it and the Properties bar should pop up. Click on your brick then look in properties. In properties you will see somthing that says "Form Factor Brick". Click on the arrow by brick you should see "Brick, Symetric, and Plate". Select plate and your brick will become smaller. To shrink the brick smaller then 1 stud by 1 stud you will need to insert a block mesh for that brick. Go up to Insert-object-Block Mesh. In Explorer click the block mesh, and in Properties you will be able to edit the off set and size of the block mesh. Now you can make bricks even smaller! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question #4 "Wait! Spakels and smoke are cool. How do I find them?"-- Simple If you have tools open look at the top of your screen where File and veiw are. There should be a tab for "Insert". Click that and scroll down to object.(Insert-object-smoke/sparkels)NOTE: You must have your brick that you want to have the smoke or sparkels in or else they will be in Workspace. Not Part (your brick). The new FIRE feature that will be coming out soon-- It will mostlikely be inserted the same way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Question #5 "What are Cancolide,Transparency, and Reflectance? How do I change it?"--You can change all of these things in properties (NOTE: Select your brick first). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Question #6 "Hey I have made a cool object here but I dont want to make it over and over again. How can I just copy everything?"--With the blue resize tool click and drag over your object--everythingis selected! Look up at your tool bar. You should see to buttons in the uper left hand corner. One says group-the other, you guessed it, ungroup. Select group and now you have one solid object :D. It will come up in Explorer as "Model". Now I know I said free models were a bad thing but im not assuming thant any of you will be making Viruses or Lag. You can name your object by right clicking on it and selecting "rename" or clicking on the name a few times. Now to the question. To copy your Model ricgt clikc and select copy (Ctrl + C). Now to make it again select Workspace and right clikc and paste (Ctrl + V). To remove that Model you can either delete it with the hammer or right click and cut (Ctrl + X) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
