After labding on the moon over and over in the 70's, the gutting of nasa happened to coincide with the presidency of the person idiots worship as a "good Leader"
What a Sham. |

That's why a lunar base should be been build, as a launching poitn for landing on Mars.
If you seriously think Humanities future is attached to this planet, you are irrational. |

| It isn't, but we don't need the moon to get to mars. You can reach mars just fine with today's tech. The only problem is a return, and due to the budget crisis, the private market will do this much better. NASA is better suited for probing and scientific experiments. |

The Private sector is not really know for looking beyond the lifetime of their share holders, that's why we have global pollution.
This is why something long term as colonization, has always been done by governments, as they are about the long term. |

Gingrich is best republican.
But it's like saying Napoleon is best Autocrat.
Though I actually wanted him to win the nomination, to gve more attention to space, though he probably would have had a better change to beat Obama then Romney. |

| Did you know that the first colonization of America, Africa, and Asia was done for the pursuit of profit rather than, you know, necessity. Humans as of now, really have no necessity to explore space, and since most of our governments can't into profits... |

Space travel is already like air travel. You can buy a ticket for $200,000.

Enjoy. |

And when they mean space travel, does that mean just going to places on earth but going up higher, or going to the moon and such?
If it is not the latter, I wont be very surprised. |

| The trip is currently just a little floating around in space, and then coming back down. If it's commercially successful enough I am sure they will expand it. |

| These were not private corporations like we know them, they were very much government over seen. It's unfair to compare them. |

No they're not. They were joint stock companies with shareholders they had to please. They just had government support, and the government even let the colonies compete amoungst themselves.
It is fair. |
