Table of Contents: I. Foreword II. Up, Up And Invisible! III. Warning Labels IV. Closing statement.
I. Foreword ========
Thanks to help from VidaFrezz, I've realized a critical error in the former thread. And though a revamp of the idea isn't really called for since the first edition isn't a day old, I will have to make an exception. There has also been a title change, I hypothesize its more eye catching. It's still being called version 1.1 however because this is the first update of the previous idea, regardless of the name:
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Allow me to momentarily distract you for impending doom (aka school) with two lovely ideas. Don't shoot me if you don't like 'em, I'm not exactly a building connoisseur! Grab yourself a red velvet cupcake and a milkshake, sit down and enjoy.
If your curiousity knows no bounds, here is the former thread: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=77435327
II. Up, Up And Invisible! =================
1. Privacy Bricks! (One-way visiblity)
What I'm suggesting is a feature to give bricks one-way visibility. For example, I'm sitting in a box. I can see everyone and everything as clear as daylight. But when you look at the box. You can only see a box and you have no idea that there is a human inside that box.
Yes, I do understand this is possible with decals however. I think this would be nice because of just overall convenience. Not only to you have to perform the monotonous task of covering all 24 +/- sides with a decal, you now have to sift through thousands of decals to find an appropriate one. When I say appropriate, I mean you don't want a box covered with flower decals in the middle of a war game :P
--
2. Invisible Space (formerly known as Line-Of-Vision Invisibility)
This is sort of a branch off of privacy bricks. This idea employs actual invisibility, not transparency. Gonna be difficult to explain!
To over-complicate it: The option to toggle and interfere with the transparency of contents. To dumb it down: I propose to make the confines of an on object transparent as well as the outside.
For example. I make a box. I put a grappling hook in it (Note: This is not a giver). I make all the box walls transparent. Now, while I can see through the box. The grappling hook is still visible. I want a feature that allows you to make the contents of this box 'transparent' as well.
So, I've made a glass box. I group it. I go and tick a little box somewhere in studio. And now, everything inside that box is transparent. Stick a ROBLOXian in there, a cat, a bagel, it's all transparent (transparency range from 0-1 like usual.)
III. Warning Labels ============== - I'm not a building connoisseur. So if Number 2. is possible, let me know. - If the ideas are not 'physically possible', please, let me know! - If you do not agree, you really have to have a reason. - Saying "I support number 2. but not Number 1." is not adequate either, I'm afraid to inform you. I need those criticisms to improve
IV. Closing Statement =============
VidaFrezz told me the impracticalness of my former 'L-O-V' idea. C'mon guys, CRITICISM SAVES LIVES.
Okay guys, reply away!

| Could we get some examples of when each one of the suggestions presented would be useful? Just to expand on your suggestion and make people understand it better. So far I have no opinion. |

Let's just break this down in a few ways.
ZERO: SCHOOL IS AWESOME. MY SISTER FINALLY GETS TO PLAY MAGIC AGAIN AFTER SEVEN WEEKS ON LONELY HOLIDAY. >:U
ONE: I guess I can support. But srsly, just decal it. .-.
TWO: I could easily do such a thing with impossible space, but oh well. That is possible with a boundary of what should be invisible and what the wall is.
I guess I shalt support. |

Frozengaia,
Zero: NU, SCHOOL IS NUT AWSHUM.
One: Would it not be monotonous to decal 30 different brick faces? That's just to make a box.
Two: I remember impossible space! You should bump that.

I think I'll bump it differently.
But anyway, not 30 different brick faces. Copy and paste.
And trust me, school is awesome. When you're in, you can't wait to get out. When you're out, you really miss it. |

BioFox,
As the second idea is a branch off the second, they can be used in similar manners.
You could use privacy bricks and invisible space to make a smashing viewing arena. Create secret 'levels' or places. Enhance VIP rooms. Make "AFK" hot-spots.
A lot of this is more to improve game play as opposed to create more options but who knows, someone may take this and use it rather uniquely.

Trust me watevs, When you get to be my age, you will start hitting yourself on the head for hating the place.
And one way you can do it is "illusion" mazes; Invisible mazes with massive blocks that light up when you touch them. That's a concept I have been wanting to do for AGES. |

Support then.
I think what you are trying to say about school is that if you have a way to hang out with your friends away from school, then there is no reason to want to go back to school and do all the work in between the socializing. |

frozengaia,
Well, I've kinda been on this planet longer than you and nope, I still hate it. Perhaps its my introvert-ism? Coupled with the fact that the few friends I enjoy being around, I can easily see them outside of school.
BioFox,
Thanks for the support and you'd be correct in understanding what I'm conveying to frozengaia in our friendly banter.

| So If you had a bace plate nd an invisible space room and a standard player were to bump into the wall would that player walk into on as if nothing is there and you joule see them in the box but they couldn't see you or? Would the hit a mysterious invisible wall and adventure around it to find a box and then start ragin with rocket launchers? |

Some parts you can script or use a decal on a invisible brick, but most of it is either very hard to script or not possible,
I support. |

"Up, Up And Invisible!"
I guess this would be rather useful, but, as you already said: You can do this with decals. Don't like any of the Free Decals? Just make your own decal, you'd get it however you want.
"Invisible Space "
This might be tough to make. No support. |

Support. But for number two, if you want to put something in a glass box and make it invisible, don't put it there in the first place.

Ahh! Some fresh critiques! Finally, things that can propell this idea in all the right directions! Let's begin:
==
iNegotiate,
More or less, yes. Just like transparent walls, the properly of a privacy boxes and invisible space boxes would be the same as any other box.
==
Xspwx
"Some parts you can script or use a decal on a invisible brick,"
As said before, it's just for overall convenience :/ To make a box out of privacy bricks, you have to cover 30 sides with a decal. Moreoever, you have to find an appropriate one.
But thanks for the support anyway.
==
Surge,
"2 is scriptable."
How so?
==
ZebraPl0x,
"I guess this would be rather useful, but, as you already said: You can do this with decals. Don't like any of the Free Decals? Just make your own decal, you'd get it however you want."
Some of us can't/are bad at making decals. And as I said after I mentioned the decal thing, it's all about convenience. Making our lives easier.
--
"This might be tough to make. No support."
I don't think it would be overly complex. I imagine you'd apply the same principals that transparent bricks apply. The 'computer' would generate the same image that would be there, as if there weren't anything there. Like transparency.
==
Mr.Superspace,
"Support. But for number two, if you want to put something in a glass box and make it invisible, don't put it there in the first place."
That's not really a solution... :/ I want to be able to make the space in an object transparent. So anything that enters that space becomes transparent as well.
==
koolkid,
Thank you for your support.
