As the power users of the roblox community, I'm curious to hear what your top website feature requests are. I'll also accept egregious or pet peeve bug fix requests.
Just a quick disclaimer, I can't promise any requests mentioned in this thread will be developed. However, I will absolutely read every post in this thread for the next couple days and will give special consideration to requests that have a broad consensus or generally intrigue me.

A fix on the moderator bot and flood check. It isn't very effective, as you can just type swears in alt codes, and it works. |

First of all I'd like to say thank you for being the one who always listens to us!
Anyways..one of the thing I've always wanted to customize is my profile. Like changing colors, rearranging boxes, and maybe uploading a background picture.
Another is changing what gets shown on your newsfeed. So-and-so made a place called Test, cool, but not when he makes like 20 of them.
Finally, game ratings. Like on YouTube, you can like or dislike a game. Games that get disliked will lose their spot on the front page (maybe include likes as well as players online in the algorithm)?
With this the problem with copied places or really bad ones is solved. No more complaints. Everyone's happy. |

| Update the site to be IE9 compatible. It is currently running in IE7 standard. Just check the browser type and make it correct for the browser. |

| @Belial: Hell, they could even remove IE7 support all-in-all. I mean seriously, who has IE7 anymore? |

Sometimes, when you go back to a page to check something's comments, it gives you an error page. That's been around for a while, though.
Also, if you spam click the "next" button on a group rank, you get something like this: http(://)puu(.)sh(/)11Rw3(.)png |

| I was thinking that maybe you could make the white background for page elements on the OBC theme invisible. I think it looks really corny to just see a big white box over a dark background. |

I'm not sure if this can be pinpointed, but if you try to post a comment, and you have slow internet for a bit, and click it, then click it again, it returns an error page.
Also, opening up the comments will sometimes do this.
D:
Anyway, something that could change is the signup. I know that most of us don't look at the signup, but I did recently, and honestly, it's really long. I've gone to a website where the signup consisted of typing in your e()mail....
I know ROBLOX needs some info like what your a(g)(e) is and if you're a b(o)y or g(i)rl for advertising, but honestly, putting in the whole thing is long. Preferably, signup would just be user()name / p@ss, then a secondary page where it asks for 'Extra' stuff. Stream-lining the signup process is apparently a lot of how to attract members.
Also, the forum could use some style updating with the whole website.
Also, Myrkros, I'm pretty sure you've just got an unread PM somewhere, that's hidden. Check your archive too.

It's be really nice if ROBLOX could come up with a standard CSS style of buttons, and then use it throughtout the website. I've seen a ton of random different button designs, from default to just random (Like on the 'Places' page,)
Maybe something like google's would be cool. |

Everything here (please forgive me for this harmless off-site link):
sites google com /site/markotaris/wish-list/site-suggestions
Table of content:
1 Make the more drop down menu show up when hovering over it 2 Remove the places page 3 Remove the profile button from the menu 4 Add a flood check for group wall posts 5 Thumbnails and description for version history 6 Improve the messaging system 6.1 Make archived messages be automatically considered as read 6.2 Make it possible to mark the currently selected messages as read 6.3 Add a search feature 7 Remove the home button from the menu 8 Make on-site links become real hyperlinks 9 Comment spam prevention 10 Re-organize the rules |

Yeah, it's totally like 4 generations of web design existing at once. I have an intern going through and applying the latest style guide to a variety of pages. It's subtle work, but I think it benefits us in the long run.

Thank you for being the first to mention the forums. I mean, I expected that to be the first recommendation from 90% of you guys.
I feel like you're not thinking big picture enough with this thread. |

While I understand how complicated and difficult this might be, I think you should get a completely new forum system. A better one, of course.
You see, the current forums are horrible, everyone knows that. Improving them to the point that they would be as good as any other good forum system out there would take too much effort.
Now, don't get me wrong, I know how hard it might be to somehow merge the databases and integrate it with the site. But you have to agree with me that getting new and better forums would be incredibly well welcomed by all forumers, considering the current forums are really bad. |

I prefer this forums relative to other ones because I know this community is immature, and on websites that this community is also in, like ironnoob, there are a ton of pictures of pony's, and a ton of images, lot's of flashytext, random images, spam, and more. Atleast with text we aren't assaulted with shocksite images.
I must say, I have nothing against a new forum system, I just suggest when applying it, every, I mean EVERY feature except for bold, italic, underline, and maybe 1 line text signatures get's removed.
I would not want to see the pictures kids pull off the internet into a forum system like this, nor do I want to see a ton of HTML links leading to ROBLOX places.
Perhaps links would be OK if filtered first.
Other major suggestions would be removing the ad at the top of the page and putting it at the bottom (I've just plaining removed it), and most of Julien's suggestions.
And yes, the PM system does need an overhaul, as well as many site functions that required 2-5 clicks. (Should only require 1-2) |

@Julien
Agreed.
I've been thinking about only migrating a small subset of data (join date and post count) and just archiving the old forum. Basically, making a massive site change where the existing forum becomes read only and we introduce a completely new, worthy-of-the-21st-century forum.
I've been thinking pretty hard about this... No promises, but maybe 2012? |
