I do not take credit for this idea, the idea was coldbloodedkiller9's. This is simply a revision.
The idea:
What coldbloodedkiller9 has suggested is a respect/reputation system on roblox. Users would be able to give and receive respect to and from other players. Users would also be able to give negative respect, which subtracts from a player's total respect count. A user's respect would indicate if they are nice, a troll, a scammer, etc.
Players would start with 0 respect points.
To prevent alt abuse, only BC players would be able to give respect by default. Once an NBC player has at least 100 respect points (or whatever number roblox would want) they would also be able to give respect. You can only give and receive up to 50 respect points per day.
The more respect you have, the more your vote is weighted.
respect < 100 the vote is 0.5 respect points respect > 100 the vote is 1% of the person's total respect
For example, if VirtualDarks had 1000 respect, his votes would be worth 10 points.
[Start of Q&A section]
Question:
This is pointless.
Answer:
No, it's not. Features like a donation system, support button, "like" button, and game ratings that are alt abusable can be solved with this.
Question:
Isn't this alt abusable?
Answer:
No, because only BC players can give respect by default.
Question:
Won't this increase forum bias?
Answer:
To a certain extent, but so does post count. Also, people who have more respect wouldn't be likely to brag about it.
Question:
What about "respect circles?" Where 2 or 3 BCers give each other respect every day?
Answer:
You can only give a certain amount of respect to a certain player, EVER. However, this number is proportionate to the amount of respect you have. The max amount you could give to a certain player ever would be 10% of your total respect.
For example, if I had 100 respect points, I could only give 10 points to any given player, ever.
Question:
What if someone whom I killed in a game rages at me and takes away my respect?
Answer:
If they rage that much, most likely they would not have much respect and would not be able to give any respect points.
Question:
This will increase begging for respect points.
Answer:
If they are begging for respect points, you can just give them negative respect points.
[End of Q&A section]
Tl;dr will be counted as support. "No support" without reasoning will be counted as support.
Thank you for reading the whole thing.

False reputations can be created, i,e; a person doesn't like somebody, and so posts on their profile that they are a scammer, telling their "friends" the same.

If they keep posting that, chances are they have little or no respect and would be ignored. Also, if someone has -100 respect, they should be limited to 10 forum posts and comments per day.

"everyone has their opinions about a person."
True, but this would be an overall group opinion of them. It's all about the average.
And someone like VirtualDarks is likely to have respect from everyone. |

This is a website full of kids, I'm sure that some of the ratings would be ridiculous.

If people like that give ridiculous ratings they most likely would not be respected and would not be able to give respect points.

Maybe there would be a message saying "their respect points are just a guideline; a person with higher respect doesn't always mean a better person."

And BC could only give respect by default. So it's not alt abusable.

Again, just tell 10 friends all to vote against one person. That's 100 negative votes.
