Once a thread becomes popular, it's icon changes to a star. However while the regular thread icon, a page, changes it's color if new posts were made in it, the star does not, making it hard to tell if there is new content in the popular thread. The suggestion is to make the star color change when new replies have been posted in a popular thread.
You may ask: "whats sho hard about clicking on the forums and going to the last page?"
Answer: whats so hard about going to the library and finding a book instead of looking up information on the internet? Its not about difficulty, it's about convenience. I am trying to make the forum more convenient by sharing this suggestion.
If you support or are against the idea, post a comment below explaining why. |

Yes. Completely. Definitely.
This is one of the things that annoys me most on the forum. It would be much more convenient if they changed it. |

Support in a different way.
Maybe there could be a star forum. No posting but replying. All the star forums will be there. And they could get popular again.

@illiejay This thread has nothing to do with star forums, just their icons. |

Go to the right, see who posts on the thread last. |

@XSpwX
That doesn't help. The same person could be posting multiple times because he is, for example, replying to posts in the thread. Sometimes posting gets quick, and you may be missing multiple messages just because the last person who posted on the thread is the same one you saw before.
Not to mention your reply is clearly not what I asked for, I asked: "If you support or are against the idea, post a comment below explaining why."
Your reply is considered spam. |

@XSpwX I clearly stated why I would label it as spam, re-read what I said. Your reply had nothing to do with opinion on the suggestion, but a work-around a problem. This is not a troubleshooting forum, it's a suggestions forum. Therefore workarounds should not be posted.

This is why it is spam. But I shall promote it to a bump now xD

What else would you classify an irrelevant message as? |

BioFox,
This is a nice idea and needed but Spwx has got you beat in this little 'argument'.
"Not to mention your reply is clearly not what I asked for, I asked: "If you support or are against the idea, post a comment below explaining why."
He doesn't support BECAUSE there's a walk-around solution. Which you rebutted by saying it doesn't work all the time. Which was valid.
HOWEVER, his comment is not at all spam and your insinuation that it's spam tells me that you don't know how this forum works.

BioFox,
"I clearly stated why I would label it as spam, re-read what I said. Your reply had nothing to do with opinion on the suggestion,"
His opinion is that this should not be implemented because there's a (though insufficient) solution to your issue.

"but a work-around a problem. This is not a troubleshooting forum, it's a suggestions forum. Therefore workarounds should not be posted."
You clearly don't know how S&I works then :/
