NOTE: Forum, comment on other's item, and message is worked but in game is not worked. |

Just so we're on the same page, you *are* allowed to say the "lesser words" such as crap, or damn. In addition, some may be using the character map to type non-standard characters in to evade the filters. If users are able to say some of the "heavier" words, then it's likely that the admins have removed the filter for one reason or other.

Maybe the admins turned off the filter? I remember something about an "age-up" program a well long time ago but never really knew what it was all about. Seeing as you have to be 13+ to even view the forums, I'm guessing that might have been their motivation to turn off the filters. But I don't know.

The problem with filters is that anyone who had ever been in the fourth grade at least once in their lives already knows about all these words. I view the filters as a tool to protect people from what they already know. It's futile to be honest. But I guess ROBLOX can do what they want, or something. So long as I can still call people "god damned idiots" I'm fine. I'd Email ROBLOX about this, however. Maybe its an unintentional site glitch they aren't aware of.

You can't sue for talking to a child in a certain way (unless it's abusive, but then you're going into complicated laws of what constitutes "abuse," and I can assure you curse words do not fall under that). The whole age-limit thing comes from ROBLOX having to be COPPA compliant under law. Basically, COPPA says you cannot collect data on a child under 13 years of age in any form unless the parent or legal guardian gives consent to the website that they may do so. It's about child safety of personal information, not about protecting them from the word "damn."

You can hold F5 for about a minute to do it instead of constantly pressing it. I once left a hammer on my F5 key when I went to eat one day and came back to see the thread had over 10k views, because it was a thread about "prevent F5 bombing" and no one seemed to get a head-start on the irony - I figured I had to do it for them.

Well, Thanks for tell me. I just look up in roblox Privacy Policy and say

| In the past, I know that, sometimes, when an in-game chat was sent with a filtered word, it would appear in the chat of the person who sent it, but not for anyone else. I'm not sure about nowadays, though. |

| Yes, filtered chats do appear in the chat of the sender, but no one else, most likely the chat log, as well |

| The ROBLOX filter, as it stands, can't find vulgar words that are created by the user substituting letters for symbols or numbers. |

| Well, some filter might not work but roblox need word filter for some safety reason. If they don't. Then parent will take kids from roblox. |

You can say hell, damn, crap, and ***.
It's because if you put an invalid character behind it (automatically does it will mac) won't filter it. |

* Do people see what you said or do you only see it?
* If you only see it, then it's normal. If you use profanity on a game, you'll see what you said, but other people won't. |
