for example:
Pavement: called a 'sidewalk' in America, because it's on a side of the road and it's walked on.
Bin: called a 'trashcan' in America, because it's normally shaped as a can of some sort and you put 'trash' into it.

sorry i'm stupid what are you saying??? just call a sidewalk (the thing people walk on) a sidewalk and everything else what they should be called??? and bins idk i guess |

Im american.
We actually use both types of nouns.
We use Pavement when describing something made of a different material than what most people envision as a sidewalk.
We use bin and trashcan interchangeably (trashbin)
Its doesnt really matter. |
