Separation of Church and State is not fair in my eyes, because in the end, Athiests are allowed to have books that promote their beliefs at school. I don't find it offensive when I see someone carrying a Quran, or a Wicca Spellbook, or even a book on evolution.
But I think that in someone's free time, they should be allowed, at school for example, to read a Bible, or whatever religious book they please. I also think religious books, again, not just Bibles, should be allowed to be passed out in public.

If the founding fathers saw what happens today, people getting ARRESTED for handing out Bibles/Qurans/etc. they would honestly be enraged.

People can't be arrested for handing out religious books. Churches or temples(Or whatever other religious buildings are called) can have fundraisers, or try to spread their word. I do get what your saying though. Alot of Atheists or agnostic people like to bash people instantly if they have a belief and try to get rid of the right of freedom of religion, which in my point of view is very wrong(I thank ALL of the atheist or agnostic people that don't do that). I as well protest against these hateful actions taken by non-respectant anti religious groups.

1. Atheism is not a religion and does not have a religious book. There are simply books that disagree with religion. 2. What kind of public schools don't allow students to have religious books? Certainly not any in my area. 3. The point of separation of church and state is to not allow any laws respecting an establishment of religion. Hmmm... That sounds SO similar to what the constitution says. Must be constitutional. This means that authority figures aren't allowed to force you to pray or punish you for not participating in strictly religious activities. For example, I don't want to be sent to detention for not verbally accepting theism. Same thing the other way around... Authority figures can't send you to detention for refusing to verbally deny theism. |

Direct quote from the constitution:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
That's the first amendment.
I'm saying that public life, which is affected by laws, should not include requirements such as "bow down to my god or else" or "do not to bow down to any god or else." This means that public services, such as public schools, shouldn't make laws that force students to pray. If I want to worship a god without disturbing or interrupting anyone else around me, let me do it, but don't try to force me to do it if I don't want to.
This should be plain and simple. However, there is a much more abstract and touchy subject that relates to the matter, such as the school staff praying over the intercom. If you are an atheist, are they forcing you to pray? No. You're basically being forced to be quiet while the theists pray and you are excluded during a period of time that could be used for something else. If you're a theist and no one prays over the intercom, are you being restricted from praying? No. Are you being excluded? No, you can pray on your own time. The school does not have to offer prayer time to an entire student body that is not entirely theistic.

Anyway, back to the point. The title is right. Banning religious books in public is definitely not constitutional. I've just never seen a public place that has banned religious books.

In our school its not allowed to talk about religion or politics. School is for learning if you want to read bible you can go to church. There are as many churches as schools.

My school discusses religion and philosophy all the time, however, the teachers never try to say that one religion is the correct one or force us to be part of one. Basically, a teacher isn't allowed to walk into the room and start preaching about how their god is the one true god, and I'm fine with that because it doesn't really help us learn anything, especially if that class is supposed to be a math class or something.
