M16:
Weight: 8lbs 13 oz (including clip and sling)
Rate of Fire: 700-900 Rounds per Minute
Velocity: 3,100 Feet per Second
Max Range: 3,600 Meters
Caliber: 5.56mm
AK 47
Weight: 6.5 lbs
Rate of Fire: 600 Rounds per Minute
Controlled Rate of Fire (So you can actually hit things): 200 Rounds per Minute (still bad accuracy)
Velocity: Roughly 2100 Feet per Second
Range: 300 Meters
Caliber: 7.62mm
---
Ending comparison
Weight on M16 is more but that reduces kick back by a lot. Improving accuracy so that the M16A2 can even be a potential sniper rifle if needed. The M16A2 also is superior in Rate of fire and Accuracy. The velocity is quicker reducing need of leading. Its range is over 12X farther then the AK47s. The only thing AK47 is superior at is stopping power. Which doesn't make much of a difference since 1 shot usually is a KO anyways with these guns.
So M16A2 is superior in everything except by stopping power (not by much). The AK-47 is though easier to clean but with the M16A2 you don't need to worry about it jamming.
---
The debate is over. No arguments. These are gathered facts and official statistics. The M16A2 is officially the superior gun.
So it has been proven. USA has the best tank, AND the best firearm.

Okay so basically you are saying the notoriously unreliable M16, let alone the A2 is better than a rifle that only 1000 true models of it were made? Wow. |

Also the German Leopard 2A7 could obliterate an M1A2 Abrams. It uses a better round, a longer barrel for penetration faster speeds and more accuracy at a higher speed. |

| i like both the ak and the m16 i've fired both and i own both. i personally prefer the m16 its just way more accurate. n00by lets not do the tank thing again. there both very similar but the Abrams has seen more combat and thus been improved based on those experiences. i've also ridden in one. a new version of the Abrams has recently been produced. |

@7prind
Combat experience does not always mean it is better. the T-34 was battle tested throughout the entire span of World War Two and its German and American counterparts were STILL better.
The newest model Abrams was released last year. The newest model Leopard started production early this year. |

These are guns not tanks. And to see if the M1A2 Abrams is better then the T-90 or not then read my OTHER forum on that lol. I will do a comparison between the leapord and M1A2 Abrams though. Never heard of it. When I type in "Best tank in the world" on google I always get M1A2 Abrams and occasionally T-90.
Also the M1A3 is rarely used due to its gun. IT is like the elite gun. Sort of like how the Russians have the AK-74 |

Just made a comparison between M1A2 Abrams and the Leopard 2A7.
btw they have the same exact cannon except that the Abrams has a more advanced round.
(When fired it has a rocket attached to the back and wings fold out, a target computer systems steers the rocket/shot and it has a metal head that busts through the armor, followed by an explosive that will destroy the enemy.)
Read the forum to see the rest :) |

| The AK47 has less recoil than other Assault Rifles and a more fire rate. |

AK47 has a really large kick back. There are videos of AK47 professional shooters and they can only fire about 5-10 shots for a second and the gun arcs 45 degrees upwards. Then they re-aim and shoot again. A professional can barely get 7 shots in a human sized target 10 feet away full auto.
These are FACTS in the forum. Not opinions. You can say what you want. But the forum is the proof. Firing full auto no stopping your aim will be HORRIBLE and you MIGHT get 1 shot on a person 10 feet away going full auto. Facts.
Also even when firing full auto I gave the speed. 600 RPM. That is as fast as it can shoot. M16A2 can shoot 700-900 rounds per minute. And it has a small enough recoil you don't have to shoot - stop - re aim - repeat |

| Both are great rilfes, but I would prefer the AK, because it is very reliable, it has high damage, it's easy to use, it doesn't jam that much, and it's light. |

You're saying a gun designed in 1947 and made of steel and wood weighs 6.5 lbs?
Impossible! |
