List 'em.
I'll start off with Salem's Lot.
Salem's Lot is the story that got me used to King's writing style. It was incredibly easy for me to follow when I first read it, and it encouraged me to get into more books of his.
It's one of the few great vampire books. Not many of those exist. It establishes it's villains and characters, and sometimes feels like a love letter to Dracula, and the horror genre in general, at times.
The town of Salem's Lot is very unique. Derry from "It" is similar in that we learn about various people who were here when that happened, or there when this happened.
We grow to know the characters, and we often end up wanting to see them out of this alive.
The plot is engaging and immerses you in the Lot. It has a lot of twists and turns in it, to keep things fresh.
Overall, I recommend this to any horror fan. |

Whoa, Salem's Lot?
Dang.
It's honestly my favorite Stephen King book, next to The Dark Tower series. |

Oh,
And if it counts
"The Call of Cthulhu"
Probably the one book that led to the creation of the horror genre for books. |
