[-Tactician’s Guide to Borealis-]
As our newest fort, Borealis, shoots off in popularity, we require a set of tips and guidelines on how to properly defend this fort and make use of all of its features. In the following passages, we will take you through the base and all of its inner-workings. We never anticipated for Borealis to be so popular, so this is more of an emergency guide, and minus a few revisions to account for future updates, this will stand as the guide an aspiring RAT member should use and follow. -Director of Diplomacy Yellowdude9209
[-Table of Contents-]
[-1-] How to Properly Begin a Round [-2-] How to Take the SID [-3-] How to Defend the Terminal [-4-] How to Retake the RAT Terminal
[-How to Properly Begin a Round-] The beginning of a round can be the most vital time in a match. Once the round begins, send people to guard the terminal, and launch an attack with a heli to the enemy terminal. Take the enemy terminal, grab the SID, and take it back to your terminal. Once the network breakdown begins, defend the terminal (see chapter 3 for reference)
[-How to Take the SID-] When your team is planning on taking the SID, it is easier to use a boat or heli, going on foot is fine as well. But, it is prefered to take the heli. If you are taking the heli, you must at least get one person to go with you. Then, you will drop him off at the enemy terminal. The person you dropped off will stand BEHIND it, so he’ll be a harder target. While he takes the terminal, it’s the heli’s job to cover the person whom is taking the terminal. Once the enemy terminal is unsecure, the enemies will no longer spawn in the base, making it easier for the person to take the terminal. Once you fully take the terminal, click on the SID tool and DO NOT choose anything else. The heli will drop the ropes, and they will head on their way to upload the SID to the RAT terminal, to start the network breakdown.
[-How to Defend the Terminal-]
Once the SID is uploading to the terminal, it will start the network breakdown. You must defend the terminal at ALL costs because the raiders are capable of reversing the network breakdown, which will make RAT have to take the enemy terminal, and do the process all over again. So, defending the terminal once the network breakdown starts is of the utmost importance. It is suggested to take the enemy terminal while the SID is being uploaded so that it will make it harder for the raiders to stop the network breakdown. This is because the raiders will spawn without FF, and on the side of the river where the RAT base is. Sometimes, snipers get on top of the cliffs, and snipe the troops guarding the terminal. Then, they will run towards the terminal, stop the network breakdown, and reverse it. To fix the problem, you should either counter snipe the snipers, or get up on the cliffs and kill them at close range. In order to attack enemy snipers at close range, a defender needs to know how to first get on the cliffs from his/her own base. In Borealis, there are TWO stacks of crates near the RAT gate. There are three crates on the bottom of each stack, with one on top of them. On the bottom level of the boxes, stand on the corner closest to the cliff. Then, equip your nullifier, and jump. The nullifier should latch on to the cliff. Hold the “W” key, fire one shot, and reload. Repeat the previous process until your character has successfully made it onto the rock.
[-How to Retake the RAT Terminal-]
If the Raiders ever take the RAT terminal and upload the SID to their base, you MUST send one person to retake the terminal. Then, one person should buy a heli or boat, and get to the enemy terminal as soon as possible. Everyone except the pilot in the heli should jump out, and reverse the network breakdown. The heli will then continue to cover the troops retaking the terminal. Any extra troops at the enemy terminal will be giving cover fire for the person taking the terminal, making it nearly impossible for the raiders to kill off the helicopter and anyone giving cover fire. By the time the enemy base is unsecure, the RAT terminal should be re-secured, in time for the RAT troops to upload the SID into the RAT terminal, starting the network breakdown.
I hope this guide shall be many use to RAT troops in this time of war, and in the future.

Nice. Although there are other ways to get onto the mountains. Its just that one is almost suicide for RAT and the other requires stacking twice. Also, are VIPs going to be released soon for Borealis, as well as RAT extreme VIP benefits? Otherwise I spent 1.5k on nothing. |
