Falthar, you are the new king of the Elven lands of the eastern continent. Shall you be better than the last? Only actions will tell. And chances for that will spring more rapidly than you could imagine. First thing's first. Is there anything you'd like to know? Or would you like to hear what matters currently require your attention?

This is fantasy tech so mostly medieval with a bunch of magical aspects involved.
Your people tend to live among the trees so 'cities' can be used quite sparingly as there is no real dense and packed together population of elves, it is all spread out quite nicely. However The High Elves do like setting up towers for themselves and these are spread out accordingly as well.
Your territory is explained in the first post of the OOC thread if you have not read it yet. You own the entire Eastern Continent. Resources? Well elves determine resources much differently than a human would. The most a King has ever required is wood and metals for weapons, all of which are plentiful in your reach. Resource limits tend to be more a human problem of nature, since the elves make sure to return to nature what they take away from it.
Pop count is ALSO in the first post of the OOC thread. (You really should read that if you haven't already) You are at approximately 4 million elves. In comparison to other nations, the middle continent (Ruled by two human nations) since it is the closest to you, has 12 million humans in total. 4 million to Naretion, 8 million to Nitom. (It's quite common for humans to outnumber elves.)

(Gah. I didn't mean territory that way, I was talking about main landmarks like oh whatever. I screwed up on the pop-count too. Can you tell that I'm tired?)
Well, what is the pressing need that I need to cure? |

Goblins. Pitiful creatures. As the humans expand in the middle continent they chase off many goblin tribes, and now a coalition of tribes has been chased off to Elven territory. They are unintelligent, but you may try to speak with whoever leads them. Or, you could chase them off or take your own course of action. As of now, they are simply resting at the edge of your territory and are likely to claim their own land if now dealt with immediately.
The coalition contained about 4 goblin tribes, And there's currently nearly 3000 survivors that were chased into your forest.

The way I see it, is the goblins are weak, and are only half decent close range fighters. If we send out battle mages, we could wipe them out quickly and easily. However, I'd like to talk to the goblins first, perhaps we could do something useful for them. Zoo animals or a simple ranch, I heard their meat tastes pretty fine. Anyway, I'll go and talk to the goblins first, and if that fails, try and capture 100-200 and kill the rest. |

Upon meeting with the leader of the goblin forces, the pitiful creature throws himself down before you. "Please nice efly king help us! We no like the horses! The humans ride them and destroy our homes! Please help us nice elfy king! Please!" It begged as you tried not to cover your nose. Goblins held a nasty stench to them due to their lack of hygiene.

| Hm. "Well, we can have a set place for you in our kingdom, if you promise to bathe, and act responsible. The land will be big enough for you to start a tribe, with enough room for 2000 members. Until we can find someplace better, that is the best we can do." |

"Yes elfy king yes!" The goblin cheers happily. "Will serve the elfy king! Elfy king protects us from bad humans!" (They will help you if you call upon their aid since you gave them a new home)
Your adviser suggests letting them live in one of the uninhabited forested swamps where they will be of no bother to anyone. Just one would have more than enough space and would keep them quite happy.

The Goblins are escorted to their new home and almost immediately you receive a message from the Archmage of the Ancient Tower. The oldest High Elf Tower known to date. They request you let them take the most magically apt goblins from the tribe to help them with their research of the various dimensional planes.
It is said that each tower was built at a spot where the inter-dimensional fabric is known to be weak and used as a ward to hold it together. The High Elves wish to try to be able to open a stable portal on the Isle of Kandarr. (A small isle just north of your territory where a tower is built.) to see what lies on the other side of the veil. Some goblins are known to be able to control some magics, and the high elves wish to make use of them.

They agree. (They're not in much of a position to DISAGREE now are they? Haha, plus they're currently in love with how you 'saved' them so yeah.)
Is there anything you'd like to do? Or would you like to wait til something else desires your attention?

After about a month, the goblins report a strange finding in the swamp you let them live in. They found a book with a strange magical aura surrounding it, it is a necromancer's book containing many different spells and ways to raise undead armies. Your high elves request that you purge it's evil and destroy the book. Referring to it as the spawn of evil.
High Elves would never respect a leader that turned to necromancy, however...is the ability to raise the dead and bolster your armies with their numbers worth it?
You could always hang onto the book as well...give yourself some time to think perhaps?

Within two weeks, you are contacted by the human kingdom of Naretion. They wish to buy the book from you for 500 gold pieces. (You currently have 200 gold pieces. ) So to more than double your treasury, they must see some grand use for this book which you have found.

Neutral. The Elves have always been isolationist and neutral with all. You're the first to really even CONSIDER interacting with other nations.
Nitom and Naretion are the two opposing nations in the middle continent. Nitom being on the other side of the bridge connecting that continent with your own.

You now have 700 gold in your treasury.
They thank you for the book. You now have increased relations with Naretion.
There is currently nothing MAJOR to deal with, however since you now have increased your treasury, perhaps you want to invest some money in order to increase your efficiency in certain areas?

Sanitation itself comes directly from what race you are, you are elves...which in all honestly is as clean as it gets. HEALTH, is another thing. Elven shamans use their magic to heal wounds and collect a variety of herbs to help fight diseases and infections. The Faries in your forests help them directly with the collection of herbs. I suppose to improve on that directly, you could pay to open up a group of shamans under your direct control to help with matters such as that in addition to the volunteers? (Shamans can also fight in battles. They're all female, and all eventually gain the possibility to become a fairy. Not a tiny fairy, but an elf with fairy wings and abilities, very valuable and rare.)
However health isn't an issue at all for your people currently, so that is your decision to make.
