screw Tim Burton. Let's get this done
Cast Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent/Two Face Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale Danny DeVito as The Penguin Pat Hingle as Commissioner Gordon Pierce Brosnan as Sal Maroni Dustin Hoffman as Harvey Bullock
Plot: As crime has died down since The Joker's death instead of calling in Batman, the new savior of Gotham City Harvey Dent has locked away most of the criminals in the city. Batman has not been seen in almost two years. We cut to a celebration of the 150th prosecution by Harvey Dent, Bruce Wayne and Vicki Vale are in attendance with Commissioner Gordon. At this party they celebrate Dent but before long a drive by ensues and the party is shot up.
Time passes and we find out a business man by the name of Oswald Cobblepot wants to buy Wayne enterprises. Bruce refuses and Cobblepot is angered and walks from the deal. He demands to his men that Bruce Wayne is killed so that he can buy the building out. Wayne is suspicious so he asks Vicki if she knows anything about him. She finds a report of Oswald taking over his parents' fortune at their passing.
For the first time that night in two years the Bat signal goes off. Bruce is surprised when Alfred tells him this and he suits up. He meets Harvey Dent and Commissioner Gordon on the roof top while they discuss this. Dent who does not want to work with Batman due to his rep. as a vigilante reluctantly informs him he has word of a Penguin-like man running crime in the underground of Gotham City. Gordon says some of his men saw a few guys conducting a deal of sorts by the circus. Batman slips away while they talk and heads to the Circus.
There Oswald Cobblepot has multiple bodyguards by his side. He deals with Sal Maroni over a bunch of stolen cars in a chop shop Penguin wants to fence. Both men stand with two guards each but upon a betrayal Cobblepot brings out twenty armed guards. He says when you inherit a few million perks come with that. Maroni's men are no match and they run back to their car and Batman springs into action. He throws a smoke pellet and they all cough while Bats takes guards down one by one. Ten are laid out while Penguin has ran in fear to his car.
The rest are being tossed around by the Dark knight while Maroni speeds off. Batman turns and shoots a hook around the axle and ties it to a pole but the string was too weak and breaks as the car drives away. Batman quickly evades the remaining guards shooting at him and pulls one into the darkness and asks where Penguin operates. He answers about a mansion that is close to Wayne Manor. He knocks the guard out and quickly hops in the batmobile and heads home. In a change of costume Vicki calls and Bruce warns her that Cobblepot is dangerous and is living near by. A street away Cobblepot's compound lies with guards posted all around.
We cut to Harvey Bullock, a hot headed veteran of the force upset at Gordon for not letting him in on the bigger action. Dent tells him to calm down and the two will work together. Bullock calms and they head to a squad car where Dent mentions a take down on Sal Maroni, finally removing the rest of the Falcone family. Back to Penguin's estate his men talk about a plot to wipe out Wayne in the coming week. Bruce spies on them and as Batman he sneaks in and plants a bug and disappears from the premises.
We also see Sal Maroni parking a bullet riddled car, Dent and Bullock grab him and his men and they head back to HQ. We sit in the interrogation where Dent says he has racketeering, homicide, and theft on Maroni. Sal says if it shortens his time he'll tell him about The Penguin. Bullock gets short tempered and says he goes away for life no matter what. Maroni jokes about the bad cop routine, only angering Bullock even more. Harvey pulls him out of the room before he goes too far.
We also see Bruce listening in on Penguin telling his men to hit the chop shop and wipe out Wayne the next day. The Bat signal goes up and Bats hits the police HQ and Dent says he has Maroni and Batman informs him he will have Penguin before the Maroni gets sentenced. Bullock also overhears this and asks Gordon why they're working with "bat brains" they have a talk and Dent walks bye and tells Bullock to go calm down outside. Sal has also hung up the phone on his one call.
Batman heads to the chopshop and stops all of Penguin's men and a sudden call comes in on the Batmobile that Penguin has changed his mind and his men are rushing into the estate, just as Vicki Vale has decided to check up on Bruce. He speeds over but and we get shots of music playing over Dent walking into an alley to rest, Sal smiling to himself, Bullock and Gordon barking at each other. During this Batman is at a race against time and Dent walks out of the alley and a thug throws acid in his face. Harvey's yells are heard through the building and Bullock rushes out to find him.
Batman arrives at the compound and the place is ransacked. Penguin has kidnapped Vale and Alfred has been beaten bloody trying to help her. Bruce takes his cowl off and holds Alfred up and thinks back to Pennyworth taking him in as his parents died. He takes Alfred to the hospital, unknowing of Vale's whereabouts. During this Dent is rushed in and Bruce turns to see Harvey with his face burned. The next morning Alfred walks out and says he is willing to serve Master Wayne again as Harvey Dent has his face burned off. Harvey is handed a mirror when he wakes up and we hear him scream to the roof tops. A saddened Bruce drives Alfred home and is tailed by Penguin's men. He walks in the door and gunshots hit the walls. Bruce ducks and the men rush in. he smacks their guns away and bashes their heads together. He calls the police and Bullock arrives to see this and Wayne notices A Penguin emblem on the guard's arm. We see Oswald holding Vale hostage saying all he wanted was to buy Wayne Enterprises and he couldn't even get that. Batman gets his plan together and investigates Penguin's compound. He finds a map of the circus and realizes where he is.
Batman drives off to the circus and battles through all his guards while Penguin opens fire with his umbrella at him. Batman reaches him and Penguin is out of ammo so he pleads to mercy and more guards run out. Batman takes them down telling him no matter who he hired he cannot stop the dark knight. Penguin is in fear and gets emotional yelling at him saying the world is like Batman and the Batman is like his parents. They were never around when he needed them, they were only cruel when a boy needed support the most. He makes a final attempt to fly away with his umbrella but Batman grapple guns his leg down and Penguin falls, bleeding a little with a slight tear in his eye.
Bruce takes Vicki out and sirens begin and Batman says right on time. He carries Vale out and as he heads to the Batcave a police report comes in that Harvey Dent is missing and credits roll.

I still somewhat prefer the original Batman Returns, but this is still good.
You should be a writer. :)
Hey, will you do Spider-Man 3 at some point? |

i don't know a lot about Spider-Man but it is a future project i'd work on. Also if anyone was curious why I hate Batman Returns so much well...
-Catwoman is weak and lacking self esteem, not like her comic book version -Catwoman survives a twenty story fall... -she's revived by cats...somehow...Tim Burton can't explain either -Penguin is crazy...he's one of the few non-crazy Batman villains...but here he's vulgar and biting noses -random penguins with rockets -unexplained circus gang -Lack of focus on Batman -Batman randomly falls in love with Selina Kyle..because...well because -Gordon is again shafted out of a major role -Harvey Dent is missing from this when he was in the last movie -We're supposed to feel bad for Penguin when he was evil even when he was a child |
