| The formal way in German is 'Wie geht es Ihnen.' Make sure you use that when you're talking to someone older than you or a stranger. If you don't, it's equivalent to going up to someone you don't know and yelling "YO DAWG WASSUP BROTHA?" |

formal. xD It is actually informal, I just read it wrong, because no one says kak pozhivaesh. Instead, they say kak dela. Kak pozhivaete is the formal version and seeing kak pozhivaesh reminded me of it. |
