The book of ages turns page after page, year after year. The myriad of races from the great First World have survived driving each other to extinction. The Saoritin, the Fire Elves, discovered an explosive mixture, with which they laid waste to others' cities. With this 'gunpowder' the Kavaltajia, the Water Elves, smithed long barrels and interlocking parts of metal to create a projectile launcher more powerful than the bow. The Eirini, the Wood Elves, then took this 'rifle' to form their large blasters of metal, which they called batteries of artillery. The Humans and High Elves realized such a cycle and removed themselves, while the Drow, the Dark Elves, improved upon such designs of their enemies. The alliance of Humans and High Elves invented horseless carriages based on steam. Such lines of invention continued on and on, stage upon stage of discovery, to better themselves economically and/or to devastate their enemies. And then, the Drow made something of their own. The 'Bird Tamer' was born, the first vehicle to fly up into the air. The other species watched in bated breath as a contraption of wood and canvas and other such materials soared over their towns. Fear was the greatest of emotions, and so more competition followed. The Saoritin were to reach the final frontier before any other. The 'Fire Bringer' flew upward in an inferno, deafening those who were too close, and those even closer were incinerated. That hunk of metal flew up and up, higher and higher than any machine had before. One came back down. There were five aboard. This Fire Elf had survived the great Void. The present day is much later. Planets have been colonized by the powerful races and now litter the outlying systems.
Er, I have to go now. More details will be described later. No one post yet, excluding marking. Farewell for now! |

These are the different species available for use:
Eirini, Wood Elves: They have the look of a basic Elf, long life span, pointed ears
Kavaltajia, Water Elves: They have the look of a basic Elf except for the blue tips of their pointed ears, long life span
Drow, Dark Elves: Grey-Purple skin, long life span, pointed ears
Saoritin, Fire Elves: Often tall, unusually pale skin despite their sunny habitats, red tips on their pointed ears, red irises, often with a very strict and militarial personality, appearance is their real age divided by nine, either red or black hair (or striped with both), diet of coal and oil, deadly aversion to water (creates blue "burns" and submerging could potentially cause death)
Ice Elf: They have the look of a basic Elf, light blue tips on their pointed ears, hard to distinguish from a Water Elf at first sight, long life span
High Elves: They have the look of a basic Elf, almost indistinguishable from a Wood Elf at first sight, pointed ears, long life span
Humans: What can I really say about them?
Now, the factions. However, feel welcome to create a different small faction, such as a for-profit organization, or a PMC, or a circus.
United Ice Elf Kingdoms: Monarchy of Ice Elf kingdoms ruled by a High King, with a king ruling over each planet in its domain
Kavaltajia Dominion: Water Elves ruled by a High Council
Second Saoritin Imperium: Empire of Fire Elves ruled by the Emperor/Empress
Lightfire Church: Religious organization consisting of many Fire Elves, led by their Annunciator
Singed Remnant Mercenary Organization: mercenary group of Fire Elves, separate from Church and Imperium, bought by factions for wars
Empire of Justice: Alliance between the High Elves and Humans, led by their Prime Justiciar and their High Emperor
Eirini Star Republic: Democratic government of the Wood Elves, led by their Presiding Minister
Drow Shadow Empire: Empire of the Dark Elves, led by their Cloaked Emperor
Kingdom of Valdemar: One of the most ancient governments, ruling over various species of Elves within its territory, led by High Queen
(My apologies if I forget anything. If I did so, then it will be posted later. Please, no one else post yet, unless they are simply marking the page. The next post will most likely be the CS and Rules, and then the RP shall truly begin.) |

The technology is fairly basic for a space opera (No, no one sings, it means spacefaring between multiple planets with several species). The main personal weaponry is a version of a laser-arm, which can be in rifle or pistol form. Melee weaponry is mostly long or short blades, possibly with electrocution damage. More domestic technology includes computer terminals and handheld datapads. AIs are allowed, but no robots, please. Various styles of ships are in use, and certain classes and descriptions are up to the players.
No wars are currently in effect. That will most likely change as the plot goes on. However, the Saoritin and Kavaltajia are generally unfriendly towards one another. The Drow do not get along with most of the other species, especially not the Eirini.
The rules are as follows: No flaming, no godmodding, no power abuse, etc., etc., and so forth. You should know the rules!

Name: Selene D’Amaera Species: Human. Gender: Female. Faction: Rogue pirate RPAge: 22 (conscious for the past 80 years) Physical appearance: 5’10”, lithe – catlike. Long red hair, left to flow freely (with a gentle wave) to her shoulders. Red eyes, though masked by a pair of dark-tinted goggles. Pale skinned, accentuated by the black of her clothing. Wears a fitted zipped catsuit under everything, knee-high boots with only the smallest of heels and a dark-grey coat that goes to the mid-thigh with a thin layer of alloyed armour on the shoulders and down the upper arms. She is afflicted with vampirism though this more of a story tool (enables the backstory to be possible) and will be used to minimal effect – mostly only when necessary or of benefit to the whole thread’s tales. Personality: Usually calm, though prone to violence when angered – which can be quite commonplace when around humans and Saoritin. She does think strategically but when in the heat of the action is very changeable and acts mostly on instinct. Fiery, passionate and willing to do practically anything to further her causes. Has the potential to be a harsh woman but maintains courtesy around her companions and crew. Items that may be stolen by a thief: Most things on the ship not tied down, it’ll probably vary. Also, a locket kept around her neck, under the catsuit, but be prepared for her to hunt you down to get it back. Short Biography: Fuelled by anger against the humans and Saoritin for destroying her home, and thus bringing about the death of Anselm, a former lover and mentor. Took to the stars like the rest of her scattered comrades, gathering what other misfits and displaced individuals she could to at least fight back. She fights with an unusual weapon, from the workshops of the Ice Elves; building on the bayonet idea a firearm was built around a sword blade – this ‘gunblade’ in particular has a revolver-style chamber built into top of the hilt and the barrel extends around 8 inches down the blade itself. She also carries a small concealable pistol as and when it is needed. Other: Ship Details: The “Scholar’s Revenge”, is a heavily customised ship previously of the Drow fleet; the size of a small frigate, but with most of the rear space stripped out to contain faster and more flexible engines – for increased manoeuvrability and speed despite the size. Being once a Drow ship, it was built with offensive capabilities in mind and as such has Drow guns and artillery upon the sides and a little built around the forward (or combat) bridge. Because of the customisation very little space remains, what is there is mostly simply habitation spaces and an armoury. Very little cargo space is available and as such the Scholar’s Revenge tends to ship only valuable commodities, from both sides of the law.
(The crew will be NPCs controlled by me, and a few may later develop into characters. Or, if you’re reading this and want to play as crew or a passenger just give me a heads up so I know and I’ll be fine with it.)

~Cicern Igneous~ "Cease fire!" I command. The screen at the front of the long bridge room displays what is beyond the bow of the Aeternam's Revival. A relatively small corvette was now hanging in space, engines disabled by a directed EMP blast. The chase was not too long, and I knew we would be the undoubtful winner, but the need to use the laser cannons for so long was irritating. The Board promised me we would get a few of the new prototypes, and I was done waiting. The ship has now come to the side of the smaller ship, extending boarding tubes. "Captain." Decanus Majha's voice over my earpiece takes me back to the present matter at hand. "We are ready to begin boarding." I nod, despite her being unable to see it. "Very good, Decanus. You may proceed. Get it over with." "Aye, aye," she replies wryly. "I'll bring the seniors to the detention room for ya'." "Understood, Mahja. Out." I disconnect, and begin walking to the brig.
The Saoritin infantry storms into the ship, small squads with a woman dressed in armor that is a mixture of Kevlar weave and metal plates, with a laser rifle in her hands. |

Selene D'Amaera:
I order men to stand down, save a few who I knew hate the Saoritin just as much as me that I wouldn't be able to stop them fighting. I open the airlock and point my sword forward, a thermal laser shot running along the groove in the blade at the chest of the nearest hostile. "Blood in return for that you spilt. I've still to meet a nice one of you scum!" At both airlocks a handful of men are taking cover behind cargo and pillars, firing at the boarding parties, we'd lose the battle eventually, no doubt about that, but they deserve to fight for their spoils, the scum. |

The Decanus take cover behind a group of crates and fires from her cover. The other troopers follow suit around the cargo bay, bring their laser-arms up to fire. One throws a blasting charge against a stack of boxes that the crewmembers are taking cover behind. Simply enough, they die in the resulting explosion, luckily not powerful enough to breach the hull. Mahja takes a squad of them farther forward, and she swiftly breaks the neck of the remaining nearby adversary. The Decanus shouts, "Surrender, in the name of the Imperium!" |

(I have only a few problems with your CS, Rider.) (1. If you are 80, that means you are about nine. I am just making sure that is what you wanted.) (2. If you so wish, your faction would be "Wanderer" or "Rogue" or something similar.) (3. What do you do for food if you do not land to pick up coal and oil?) |

Selene:
I lean against a locker, in cover, panting. An explosion rippled under my feet, so they got the others I guess. I sigh, and shout out "So what if I don't? What if I enjoy avenging?" I swing the sword around the corner, firing blindly.
I'd have to give in eventually, Fair Fortune wasn't pleased with me and I'd only managed to fell a mere few of them. Still, it'd be worth it in the end, and maybe they wouldn't salvage what I'd hidden amongst the usual cargo. Perhaps they'd just... My thoughts are cut off my the sound of a shot just above my head, pulling me back into the fray, and I bolt out from this crate to the next, shooting blindly as I go, just hoping to hit them. |

| Decanus Mahja smirks as she sees her legionnaires' progress. The crewmen have been pushed far back from their original position, and the fighting has taken on a melee aspect. She draws her small vibroblade and switches from her rifle to her pistol, battle rolling to the next set of crates as the soldiers press forward. |

Selene:
I kick back the nearest grunt, using his moment of being off-balance to swing a shot through his face. Pushing him aside I throw myself forward, locking blades with Mahja and cursing her heritage.
At the other airlock the remainder have surrendered, being taken aboard the larger ship bound and without weapons. Too many comrades had to be stepped over on the way, least for the handful that remained. |
