It's a game, and the games you play don't automatically determine that you have a social life or don't. There are MANY people who play World of Warcraft and they seem to have a good social life.
But even if they don't, they still may be happier then people who think the more people who like you, the better you are. It is nice to have friends, but people who are so desperate for friends who will change themselves to something they're not to obtain friends is a problem in society.
The players of World of Warcraft who don't have friends may end up happier then those who have friends, but friends that are not true friends. |

It's repetitive, obscene, and overall boring.

I played WoW. According to the media I am a hardcore player, according to the most advanced WoW players I am in between casual and hardcore.
The VAST majority of WoW is casuals who play less than 2 hours a day. |

| I agree with phoniex. I could never get myself into it. It's mainly just about grinding, and the drop system. I love the Warcraft series though. |

6 months is longer than I have held onto a game |

I played WoW for about 6 months too. Got to level 84, and then I had to choose between either resubbing or getting Saint's Row 3. Got SR3, never bothered resubbing to WoW.
Horrible waste of $200. $100 for the actual game plus expansions, $100 for subscription. |

Is there a free trial? I want to see what it is like. And what age do you need to be?

I'll try out the free trial, but before I do, I might see some gameplay and if I'm a good enough age.
(I worry about age a lot, mostly cause I don't want my parents watching me play bad games that are not for me)

And of course, I'm not eligible enough to play -_-
I tried to check it out but it said I was too young.
