This is a new RTS(Real Time Strategy) game I've been thinking of. I don't know if I will make it or not, I'm still brainstorming things about the game. So far I have this:
Objective of the game is to capture all enemy planets/destroy all enemy planets. Each team starts with one planet and three small space fighters. You may be able to build additional structures on the smallish planet, but for the moment it only has one building, possibly simply called the "Base". Your job from here is to get an extra cash income. "Power Plants" in this new game would be "Solar Panels" which go a certain distance from miniature suns. One solar panel per sun. After you get enough money, you can create a few(for now) buildings. Basically Tank Factory/Barracks/Airport, just in outer space, and definitely not tanks/soldiers/planes. Tanks would be slow, powerful, expensive, high-health fighters. Planes would be quick, medium health, medium power fighters, and Soldiers would be medium speed, low strength, low health fighters. You can create structures anywhere in outer space, as in, 3D, just as long as you have an existing building, or an acquired planet nearby. From there you will try to defeat your enemies by destroying their units and buildings. You can direct your units to go anywhere in space, even to infinity, therefore I will not force you to kill all enemy units to win, but claim all planets. So "escape" is not really possible.
Planets will have a building that will signal that they have been claimed. You may be able to build additional buildings from there, probably turrets. To claim a planet, all buildings must be killed, and no nearby enemy units(even those who never owned that planet) can exist. After that, you are allowed to build a Link, and then claim the planet.
Planets probably will not be very large, so don't think of Conquerors sized planets with cliffs and all that. It will probably be about the size of a nice base in The Conquerors.
Space Links may be the only buildings that are allowed to create "Astronauts". These units cannot go more than a certain distance from a building, because they will be "tethered" to the nearest building. They cannot attack, but they can repair any building(and maybe units, I'm thinking about it). However, the "plane" fighters can transport these astronauts from place to place. They cannot be released unless in proximity of a building, and will die if the plane dies without releasing it.
Please post REASONABLE suggestions, and what you think of this idea. It's just a 'beta' idea. It wouldn't be hard to script, but it would take time.

| It sorta sounds like a mix of the Solar Conquest game and the Conquerors, lol, I like it. |

| Sure, then the protoss come a-... oh, yeah, not a starcraft board... well, *serious face* your description is vague but everything you touch turns to gold, so you should atleast try. |

I don't know if I'm going to use stars as power sources... It seems dumb making suns be about the same size as planets. How would planets work? How big should the base part be, and should it have a large color sphere, like in Solar Conquest?

I might just use asteroids for power sources, special ones, and other asteroids as 'cliffs' where you could maybe put some units behind.

| I think the asteroids are a good idea. Like a distinguishing feature on 'Power Plant' asteroids. And just normal asteroids. But with the 'Austronaut', maybe the austronaut could have a repair feature, since he is linked to a certain building. Like a repair man. |

Maybe You could make it into a differant place insted of the same place?
One grounded conquerers and one space?
You could add aliens which kill you |

I like the idea alot cuz sometimes the conquers can get a little boring after u play it alot :|. I agree with ehero you should ad some sort of "aliens" so that it isnt just player vs player but u have to worry about Non players to. |

Thats AI stuff. Really complicated. Although so far this idea seems much simpler than the conquerors. Never know, maybe I'll manage to script an AI.

| Not to be a star wars noob or anything, but i think you should have something like a death star, make it very expensive, have alot of health and defenses, and be able to destroy planets, sort of like the nuke in the conqueres, and their would be a time limit on when you coudl make it. |

| Maybe you should make the tool turn you into edit mode when you select it.I dont really get why the original conquers has to be with active players.You can make the teleport base tab make your camera set focus on your base.With your scripting skills i belive this is possible.And also if possible it will be awsome if you can add fog of war.I thing fog of war is a symbol of an RTS which in my opinion makes the game more thrilling.You can make the buildings revealed when a certain unit gets close to it.In that case you should make the concept of vision range.Sorry for this long passage,I want a epic scripter like you to make the most RTSish RTS in roblox for i am a hardcore SCII gamer XD |

now that i think about it, putting alien races COULD be a pretty cool idea...maybe sunspots could be a power source because they arent to big... maybe you should give planets names... special resources... perhaps? such as different currency... e.x : Solar energy (can be harvested on sun planets) Cash (basic) frozen water (icey planets) moon dust (dusty planets) and maybe they could build special units... no, im not talking about SUPAH OP units, just different units for different causes... like... scorpian large anti air capabilities, low ground damage req : 30 solar energy, 50 cash. ghost stealthy, can only be detected by... : special units, turrets (including forts/command centers) req : 50 moon dust, 40 cash |

maybe u can make some planets gaseous, so astronauts cannot land there, but floating wind turbines can collect energy from the wind. or maybe mega units, like in the game Land Air Sea Warfare, you have to build a special mine beside a special mineral in order to create a particular mega unit. the nukes could be instead, orbital strike cannons while the radiation centers could be area shields or maybe mirrors which can reflect the laser from the orbital strike cannon. or how about a planet-sized ship like the Death Star(Star Wars)? how about differ, whereby the player chooses the race he wants and then starts building with that race, which has different abilities, powers, ships and buildings(E.G: Humans, Martians etc). you could also add units which require players to research a research before they can build that unit, like Rifle Research for Rifleman.(I know riflemen cant be placed in this game but this is juz an example.) in all, whatever you do, i'm all up for this game. |

| I have an idea, if it were to be Solar Panels, you would need an energy from of something to gain cash from, but if you have asteroids, the cash income could easily be done with minable asteroids, so instead of power plants, it would make sense as mining facilities! And then you can place other small buildings on the asteroids because there are (so called power plants) asteroid mining facilities on them! |

Totally agree with rye! However you make this game, im up for it, if it's a ROBLOX Studio edit mode camera, or a player interface, im up for it!
But I still have a great idea for the ~GUI layout; Wehn you CLICK on a section of the GUI (for eg like troops, buildings ect) it SLIDES out instead of just appears, and then once the section of GUI has slidden out, it will only be a picture on each box, and then when you scroll the mouse over the picture, it comes up with a name above the picture and the price below the picture! Even though it won't actually do any difference to the game (like adding units and stuff makes it better to expand the game), it will make the user interface with the game alot more appealing! |

| You can put in Demolition lasers. Demolition Lasers are like the nukes in The Conquerors, Except you need to destroy all Laser Shields around the planet you want to demolish. All nearby enemy units/buildings are OWNED. |
