I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Lua, is in fact, RBX.Lua, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Roblox plus Lua. Lua is not language you use unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning ROBLOX game platform made useful by the Lua corelibs, comprising a full game made in C++ and C#.

Many users run a modified version of the ROBLOX platform every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of RBX.Lua which is widely used today is often called just "Lua", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the ROBLOX platform, developed by the ROBLOX dev team.

There really is a Lua, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of something else they use. Lua is the language: the one scripters claim to use. The platform itself is an essential part of the language, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete Game platform. Lua is normally used in combination with the ROBLOX game platform: the whole system is basically ROBLOX with Lua added, or RBX.Lua All the so-called "Lua" scripts are really scripts of RBX.Lua, thank you for reading.

So you're saying a company created in 2004 made a language created in 1992?

Seems legit.

@ "Someone's never heard of PHP extensions... :P"

Requiring such a weird extension just to run a wiki is stupid.

"Installation

This PECL extension is not bundled with PHP."

nope.avi, I'm not installing such a stupid extension and "yo dawg"ing scripting languages just to run a wiki.

I guess MediaWiki is falling into that old trap. Tomorrow they'll announce that MediaWiki can also read mail.
