When I go to my computers settings things (forget what it's called) It says my computer has 2.00 Ghz rated at 4.00 Ghz.
Does this mean my computer could play games that requir 4.00 GHz or is it some kind of lie made up by HP to sell more laptops? |

What exactly are you checking this with?
"or is is a 2.0ghz dual core."
That's not how GHz work. |

| Yeah acctually it is a dual core but since both of them are 2.00 Ghz does that mean together they make my computer have 4? Or is one of them a backup or something because why add two if it makes no difference? |

| A dual core at 2GHz is still 2GHz. You don't add them together. |

| Why does it say "rated at 4.00" though? |

Your processor speed doesn't really matter too.
But faster is better.

| I'm checking it by going to that one area after start and going to control panel and all that and I think the computer model is a HP Pavilion G6 |

That doesn't really help... Post exactly how you got to what you are using and/or what it's called. |
