...we'd be able to put a man on the moon.
Money for the space program? 1 billion.
Money for the 2012 olympics? 700 BILLION.
I punched those numbers into my calculator and it started sobbing uncontrolably. |

700 billion for the freaking olympics?
I wish they would make them like once a decade or just deleted them because it's such a waste of money and no one cares anyways

because obviously a sports event is more necessary than research that will lead to massive scientific breakthroughs
OBVIOUSLY |

Next, do 700 billion, times how many times the olympics have been done.
That money could of helped save the world, and we would be able to live on the moon. |

That's a lot, but you have to think about how the Olympics works.
You need to pay for airfare, outfits that they wore for the opening/closing ceremony, uniforms (leotards, swim suits, track outfits, ect), gear, and even more that they need.
We already have had our era of space.

"Next, do 700 billion, times how many times the olympics have been done." wrong because not all the olympics cost that much, just ones in recent days |

Not until Russia wins the Olympics.
We have forever until we go to Mars.
WAIT FOR RUSSIA TO WIN THE OLYMPICS.
IN THE FUTURE! |
