So I started a modern military group, it's not off the ground yet, but that's irrelevant.
Recently I've been thinking of ways to get good fighters with grammar easily, like VAK has, more or less.
An academy isn't an option at the moment, as I want to give everyone a chance to join when they please, but at the same time, I want to make sure they don't get ranked up without the uniform specifications most groups have. (Uniform is being used as a way of saying the regular in this sentence, which I believe is an alternate meaning of the word.)
Now, that I've beat around the bush, let me give you the plan.
So I'm thinking of having an obby, which is done, and hosting what will be titled in shouts as. -[{OT}]- which stands for "Open Try-outs", where I will personally be overseeing a mega server of all rookies (First rank in the group) that want to do the obby. They'll be timed with an app I have, and if they meet an appropriate time (I'll probably post again for a test session and get and average time from C&G), they get a point. This will be 1 point out of 5, which will get you the free promotion to Operative, kind of like a filter.
I'll also do the same general plan for guns, swords, Grammar (I'll probably set up a classroom or thing), and another one for respect, or a sort of, Read and Obey sort of thing, which will be me or one of my commanders giving a soldier, or soldiers, quick commands, testing their reaction time, seeing how fast they follow orders, and how well they execute them.
That pretty much wraps up this thread, do you think the plan would work? Keep in mind it's supposed to be a filter system, that allows members that do not meet up with standards regarding regular soldiers in groups (i.e VAK, some RAT, some UAF, etc) to pass with the proper time, and commitment.
What do you think? |

Very nice idea, but I have some changes that personally, I would find more efficient. 1 - To prevent spies, only allow the 2nd+ rank to see the wall/talk on the wall. 2 - Further prevention of sabotage, put a script in that lags out all members from your enemy groups 3 - Not everyone is good at obbies, some people are good at fighting and other skills. So, the try-out should be general skills. Best 2/3 get to get ranked up? 4 - Speech tests. I never see these, and it could take a much as 5 minutes in an 1/2 - 1 hour try-out. Just have them say a short sentence about something, like "What timezone do you live in and how active can you be? Use full sentences." None of these changes need to be added, but these are just what I think could be done to improve that. Don't take them, or take them. I don't care, but I'm bored and I just want to give some input on this. Good luck with your group!

Please try to use grammar, even on the forums, pappy. People won't take you seriously, and your own group members might see this post. Puts a bad impression on who should really be leading that group of yours.
And sadly, no. The highest rank in VAK I've gotten was Corporal. |

@Fizz
Thanks so much for that, I read it, and actually was surprised that I didn't think of it myself. (Not trying to brag about my intelligence). I'll definitely try out that 2/3 system, and that speech testing idea. Thanks for that awesome feedback. |

@Dmoney
No problem, I've been HR in a couple of groups, and think of the type of members that are the hardest to lead, and the ones with certain skills, and then I find ways to deny/accept those.

| Err, that's a bit irrelevant, but I was technically exiled before I COULD leave the next day. But I was going to leave because of all the rude officers, and the fact that within 3 weeks, I got 4 alts into VAC, level 2+. It made no sense how easy it was. |

These are logs of feedback from some of my friends.
It's not here to boast/brag/ encourage anyone from giving feedback, but rather so that I can keep a log of everything people said.
[Korvem]: GOod ideas.But I think you should have an academy first.And to pass the academy.They need grammar and pass the obby.Like RAT's obby system for Conscripts.
Colonel K. Bektor: You won't gain active members easily, I know this from leading my own clans in 2009-2011. You will need to use propaganda, and have a manual entry system. I like the sound of the obstical course and points system, but eventually you'll need to instate an Academy. Lastly, gaining members that are significantly useful comes with time, even VAK started off with people lacking grammar and basic knowledge.
Vos Despero: Or you could use a badge and create an obby that needs to be completed in X amount of seconds, or minutes. Vos Despero: Meaning you do not need to be there overseeing is 24/7.
