| How is the best way to measure speed on ROBLOX? I mean, we all use studs per a second, or whatnot, studs is the unit. But what if we want to abbreviate it? Should it be 'Sps'? (Studs Per a Second?), like MpS or MpH? What is the best way to do it? |

| It is studs per second. Walkspeed also measure by second. |

wat You don't traverse 16 studs per second by default. |

I think you'll just need to measure the player's character's overall velocity as walkspeed does not provide an accurate overview of the speed in which the character is travelling if it is falling or moving very fast inside a vehicle.

SPS makes the most sense. And, from what Roblox says, a foot is a few studs so a mile must be very, very long. So definitely not MPH and MPS would be like .012345678
"wat You don't traverse 16 studs per second by default."
It just seems like we don't. I think I remember doing a test once where I measured the distance the character traveled every second ant it was about 16. |

ROBLOX should make an official judgement on a scale of a stud. I hope they don't make it using the imperial system as they are hard to understand and the metric system is much more internationally friendly.

1 stud = 1 foot
Btw, WalkSpeed and Sps are not the same thing. |

"1 stud = 1 foot"
20 studs == 1 meter exactly. Anything else is wrong. |

Arceus, I specifically remember the Roblox blog stating that like, 4.5 studs is an inch or something.
http://blog.roblox.com/2012/06/testing-the-accuracy-of-roblox-physics-with-potato-cannons/
"In ROBLOX, one real-world meter is 20 studs."
A meter is about equal to a yard (Meters are better though!), so we can see that one roblox stud is not a foot. One foot in Roblox is about 6.6 stud.
And walkspeed:
while true do print(Workspace.Player.Torso.Velocity.magnitude) wait() end
I walk, and I get a bunch of 16's in the output. |

So using math:
Character = 5 studs in height meter = 20 studs
5/20 = .25 meters. WTF? Obvious inaccuracies are inaccurate. Why would they pick that as the standard of measurement when it doesn't scale to anything in the game??? That makes no sense at all... It should be 3 studs = 1 meter. Then things would scale better. |

20 studs == 1 meter 80 studs / 20 = 4 not 40. |

| You could call a stud a "Roblox unit" (Ru), and go for Ru⋅s⁻¹ |

| This simply means that, if we take our ROBLOX characters, and make life-sized models of them, they would be about the same size as the dolls you see in stores. |
