Grammar isn't spelling, capitalization or punctuation.
That's Mechanics. Grammar is the relationship between words and them making sense when put together.
"i em rly cool" is good grammar and bad mechanics.
English class is over. What's sad is that I just out-lectured your English teacher. |

"I saw your other thread. FYI, Putting everything in caps and mispelling most of it isn't grammar."
It's a joke thread. Get over it you sadistic fool.
"Thanks for stating the obvious."
You'd be surprised at how many people don't know this. |

>In linguistics, grammar is the set of structural rules that govern the composition of clauses, phrases, and words in any given natural language. The term refers also to the study of such rules, and this field includes morphology, syntax, and phonology, often complemented by phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics. Linguists do not normally use the term to refer to orthographical rules, although usage books and style guides that call themselves grammars may also refer to spelling and punctuation.

No. I basically out-lectured your English teacher. They don't teach you this until it's too late. So be happy you know. |

Feel like a sir.
Yes grammar can be referred to as spelling and punctuation but it should not since Mechanics takes hold of the spelling and punctuation rules. As far as I know Mechanics and Grammar are 2 different things. Don't blame me if I'm wrong, I was never though about it in school for some reason. I just read about it on the internet. |

"April, your arrogance is astonishing"
Sure I'm arrogant but that doesn't change the fact that Mechanics doesn't belong in the category of Grammar. |

| If that large post was directed at me, notice I said arrogance, not stubbornness. Whether you're right or wrong is not in question. |
