The tale of the Reaper brothers is one that has always been shunned by the Vortexian community, and shrouded in mystery, always mingled with by aspiring poets and writers, portraying the Vortex nation as mighty, exaggerating the victories of Vortex, and the defeats of the Reaper brothers. The true story was confined to the few veterans who still lived. Only now has the truth been revealed about the life of the Reaper brothers, and the permanent damage dealt to the Vortexian nation.
The Reaper brothers, born in the 1920's, in mainland dictator X-101st territory. A new nation had arisen to the east of the Claxin continent, breaking away from the X-101st mainland, and forming a new independent nation, led by the glorious leader Justgoaway. The Reaper brothers were born into the troubles which happened due to this, as X-101st went into a de facto arms race with Vortex, determined to keep ahead of this rising star in the east. War wasn't an option, as already Vortex had almost treble the population of X-101st; the east being the most populous of all the continent. The brother's mother, of which died a week after giving birth to them, coined the brother twins Cato, Alex, Macro, Tony, and Chyin. They worked on an expansive farm from the age of as little as 4, pressured by their brutal, grief-stricken father, and the local government police to produce crops to fuel the industrial beast known as the X-101st. Opression was ripe in the land, people who supposedly didn't work hard enough were executed publically, and floggings were common, for the smallest crime thinkable. The brothers suffered from this, as they were prone to stealing from the local town, merely to survive. It was unsurprising when Chyin's left hand was cut off, after being caught stealing a loaf of bread from the local bakers. Some may wonder why they do not use the crops they produce... Well, the crops all go to the government, to be distributed among the Military, and the industrial workforce. The pay for said crops was low, and barely enough to scrape by without stealing. At the age of 16: the legal age to leave their parents, the Reaper brothers fled east, to the supposed haven of a nation...
They arrived in the western expanses of the Vortexian nation on the 25th August, 1938; 24 days after all of their 17th birthdays. The trip had been deadly, and hard-going. Chyin had suffered a major injury: a loss of an eye to a rogue bandit, while the others were malnourished, thin to the bone. Cato's once fair, blonde hair, had now dissapeared, singed off during a forest fire, which succumbed the whole Eastern forests to the extraordinary might of fire. It was lucky that they were at the edge of the forest at the time. Unknown to them till their arrival in Vortexia, the brothers shared profound skills at both Swordsmanship, and markmanship, save Chyin, who could only handle a Smith & Wesson revolver with his one hand, and eye. These skills were their key to surviving the journey against bandits, and the local wildlife. They also proved handy for work, as they were hired for work by roaming travellers.
For the next 4 years, they travelled, by train, automobile, or horse, protecting travellers. It was a good life, which kept the brothers physically fit, and gave them knowledge of the Vortexian countryside. However, it didn't last.
In 1942, Vortexia, still in its younger years, declared war on a country to the North: Sleet Clan. Any able men were conscripted in the army to fight the new menace to the north, not excluding multi-nationalists. On September the 19th 1942, the brothers were separated, after finishing a crash course 4 week training, and sent to the front lines. Chyin and Alex to the 51st Regiment, in the NE, combatting 2 Sleet regiments, which were trying to conquer Vortexia's greatest fort: Fort Vulcan. Meanwhile, Macro and Cato went to the 2nd Regiment, fighting on open, chilly grounds in South Sleetan. Tony, however, a young of man of amazing skill and talent, superior to that of his brothers, joined the 1st Rangers Squadron, and was tasked with going behind assassinating major targets which were of a major threat to the integrity and overall safety of the nation. Unknown to the Vortexian and Sleetian public, Tony and his squad were behind many of the peculiar, freak deaths of many Of Sleet officers and major politicians. Tony breezed through the ranks, and by the end of the war in 1949, had arisen to be a chief Advisor of Justgoaway himself. His brothers had achieved great things as well, Chyin a Lieutenant, Alex a Captain, and Macro and Cato Colonels, both Commanding Officers of the 2nd Regiment, and renowned for the battle of Leetyness mountain, where they took on 2 Sleetian regiments, and came out triumphant, with minimal casualties.
The years went on, and the political powers of the brothers grew, now Cato and Macro had scraped their way to be Advisors of Justgoaway. Chyin, however, the one who had always got the bad luck, remained as a lowly Lieutenant, jealous of the 3 brother's success. Alex got it worse, however, and in 1952, during a supposed cultural and technological revolution, died of unknown causes. Power is a dangerous thing, as Justgoaway didn't seem to know, and it was only a matter of time before everything hit the fan.
On August the 1st 1961: the brother's 40th birthdays, they summoned all possible men who were loyal, or in it for the money, to the Southern border of Vortexia. Under the plans of Chief Advisor Tony, they secured all major cities in the southern regions, Valor, Hydrixio, and many others. This was a major surprise to Justgoaway, as he watched in horrified awe as the southern regions of his great nation broke away, under the command of the brothers. Unsurprisingly, this led to war. Brutal war.
Anarchy spread through the Vortexian nation, and the newly founded "Reapon", as riots spread through cities, fighting in support of either the brothers, or Justgoaway. Vulcan was firebombed by Reapon nationalists, leaving it in ruins and killing thousands upon thousands. The capital of Reapon; Valor, suffered internal and infrastructural damage, as housings were set alight, and people were lynched on their doorstep, merely because of who they supported.
Cato and Macro, perhaps the brothers which shared the strongest of bonds, both died in the battle of Hydrixio, as the place was firebombed, shellshocked, and stormed by hordes of Vortexian infantry. With two of the greatest Generals of the Reapon army dead, the war tilted in Vortexia's favour, as the armies advanced purposefully on Valor, intent on eradicating Tony Reaper from the face of Robloxia.
However, much to the surprise of the public at that time, and now, because of the writers and poet's lies, it wasn't Vortexia who dealt the killer blow.
Chyin, who was given the title of Colonel in the Reapon, turned on his brother.
Driven by jealousy and perhaps hatred which had been nurtured and burning in Chyin's heart for so long, ordered his regiment on the front lines to stand down via radio, unknown to Tony. On the 4th of February 1970, Chyin simply asked for a meeting with his brother in the grand palace, and shot him down, stone dead.
Perhaps the hero of Vortexia, or one of the leading scourges of it, was arrested and publically tortured, and executed, 2 days before the arrival of Vortexian forces in Valor. It wasn't hard after the death of Tony, half of the Regiments simply surrendered on sight, and were taken as POW.
A man, driven by jealousy and rage, who killed his brother, but single-handedly ended one of Vortexia's most humiliating wars, was erased from history, anyone who spoke of the matter vanished, and Justgoaway seemingly went into chronic depression, and faded into his mansion in Vulcan, barely seen exiting, leaving Vortexia to be run by his "trusted" Advisors. Maybe he was humiliated because of the war, or maybe it was the fact that he could've prevented it...
I'll be surprised if you read all that, I was bored, extremely bored. Bassy out.
