On one hand, it is a group of islands that I think would like to be independent from Britain, and could probably manage its own economy.
On the other hand, it would probably get invaded by Argentina. |

I've been to Spain and Wales doesn't mean all of Spain and Wales should make one country!

| I've also been to the UK, in the UK, people don't care about the Falklands, whereas in Argentina, people think of it as a national issue. |

| What makes you think that? The islands ARE sustainable, right now they are economically independent from the UK, who only pays for the defense, and things will only improve when the drilling starts. |

So what? Why does the Argentine opinion matter more than that of those who, you know, ACTUALLY LIVE THERE?! |

| Please Argentina is like a screaming baby,we've owned those islands longer then they've been a country. They've taken it to the UN and lost. We don't see it as national issue because we know, rightly, that's their ours and there's no point in arguing with Argentina over it. |

With the British paying for defense I think it would be better overall for the Falklands to stay under British protectorate.
However who's gonna invade the Falklands, right guys?

@jbg Yes, you are right. XD but seriously. Britain lost America, India, and a whole buncha places (I can't name...I don't live in the UK so i would not know...wish i did live in Britain...) I am a very diplomatic person, so I can say:
1. Britain can't lose any more land. It's so small, and people here have said that "islanders want to be part of Britain still" so I would vote up here.
2. Great Britain...is kind of like a mother. America grew up, and moved away, and is now not under control of the British Parliament, and India and a lot of places I can't name. And now the Falklands have grown up, and can protect themselves and take care of themselves. Although, if someone wants to attack (and anyway, who would? I hadn't even heard about the Falklands and the whole dilemma until now! XD) Britain/Argentina/some other caring country who has plenty of trained soldiers can help them out. I'm sure if Argentina and Britain can't help, America could chip in a bit. Our economy is pretty much sinking to the ground, and we are in a war, we can probably spare a few soldiers. So I could vote up here.
~Remember, I am NOT trying to offend ANYONE, just sharing my diplomatic thoughts with people on a forum~ |
