To make it easier to imagine, have games like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue or the new persona 4 arena in mind (Arcsystem works games in short)
So, 3D backgrounds, but 2D, hand drawn(okay, maybe it's tablet) characters.
The gameplay controls uses the: WASD for moving Left mouse for light attack Right mouse for heavy attack Space for jumping 1,2,3,4 buttons for spirit attacks
The controls themselves work as your standard fighter affair, you'll be able to execute many varied combos at any time. The mechanics are what's different-
You have, essentially, 3 bars: The Health Bar - Self-explanatory The Spirit Bar- this is the bar that your spirit attacks consume(each spirit attack also has a cool down) and lastly, The Balance Bar- at first this seems like your normal combo bar, but in actual fact, it goes both ways! This will increase the more you do damage, but will also decrease when you take damage! (blocking doubles the decrease) maxing out the balance bar will let you execute finisher combos, while completely putting the bar into the negative state(when it goes past empty and fill up the opposite way) will be able to enhance all your stats for a short while!
CHARACTERS: None so far, coming in ver. 0.0.2
STORY: Also, none, coming in ver. 0.0.2
HOW IT WOULD WORK: Right now, I've got a vague idea- I mean, "2D things battling on 3D things, whhhhaaaaat!?" right? But what if I would use markers? See this markers would be the center of the characters, and these markers would have a range- this is the range where there would be other markers, for attacks and damage, would show, and the character would act according to the distance of these markers! These markers are invisible bricks, ofcourse!

If you want to suggest characters, please add:
-3 win quotes -3 lose quotes -10 taunts -atleast 5 moves/combos available for every button attack(make sure it's balanced enough to still show openings, and also, have proper damage, don't suggest finishers inside the five, alright?) -basic appearance optional: -movements/ idle habits -prologue/epilogue -quirks (special features only available to the character- make sure it's balanced!) |

.. I shot myself on the foot with the characters. Combos are too complicated to put in a game design thread! Groups/websites, on the other hand... |

Changed the name? Also got a few characters in tow, though I'm still doing tweaking and balancing their stats to atleast be okay in concept. |
