Saying Minnesota is not the State of Hockey is incredibly ignorant. Home of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, roughly half of the 1980 U.S. Miracle Olympic team (including legendary coach Herb Brooks), numerous high school powerhouses, and multiple great D1 hockey schools. On top of that, each winter when you go by parks, you will see an ice rink with people playing hockey, whether that be little kids learning the game we love, some friends playing some pick-up, or older guys having some fun playing the game they once played. Not to mention each year when the state high school tourney is hosted at the Xcel Energy Center (which, by the way, has been voted 3rd best stadium in the U.S., and best in the NHL), it sells out, showing the dedication to amateur play. Pro hockey teams have rarely succeeded on ice here. That has absolutely nothing to do with our hockey tradition. (and don't even bring up the North Stars relocation. Norm Green was on his own agenda, with his wife threatening a divorce if he didn't move away from the city where he had been accused of seckshual assault. Walk the streets of the Twin Cities, you'll see many folks wearing North Stars shirts and caps.)Also, Michigan does NOT produce the most NHL players, if you're talking active players. Minnesota has about 9 more players currently playing. We also have more U.S. Hall of Famers and more HOF-ers in the Hall in Toronto. |

>0 stanley cups >previous NHL team has had to move to dallas (don't bring up the wife, the north stars couldn't get a new arena, nor were they selling out) >new expansion team still doesn't sell out (check out the stats, 98.4% average for the season) >detroit is hockeytown >detroit is in michigan >michigan has actually won stuff in hockey >>>state of hockey |

Did I say this was about pro hockey?
Did I say this was about the Minnesota Wild?
I am speaking for the entire hockey community of Minny here.
Not so you can try to criticize me.

Red Wings have been around for since the NHL was created, Wild are just a recent creation by the NHL yes I know, but that doesn't give you a reason to be butthurt that the State of Hockey sits right next to Michigan.
Don't cry now. |

>greentexting incorrectly >trying to get on my level stop posting, you're making a mockery of yourself
how can you be the state of any sport when you can't support that sport on a professional level?
and if you want to talk about college
>michigan wolverines have nine championships >more championships than minnesota, minnesota duluth, minnesota state and st cloud state combined
>>>state of hockey |

So since Detroit is high in crime rate, Michigan can't be a hockey state.
Please explain the logic in that. |

1. i'm not even from the states, i'm from canada. you shut your stupid mouth and talk to the person who was born with hockey intelligence, you butthurt child 2. at least detroit made the playoffs, unlike the goofs called the wild 3. if you want a more recent example, the ducks and the hurricanes have won cups before any minnesota team |

Michigan doesn't care enough about hockey to be a hockey state.
If you ask me they are baseball first, then football, then hockey, then basketball. Currently as of 2012.
If it was 2002... Hockey might of been 1st. |

@yonnd detroit for the most part but we usually go to saginaw
@bensbrother so by that logic, if i put a TV with an A's vs. rangers game infront of a chinese family, they'll start talking about the rangers' shot at winning the world series, and josh hamilton's season so far.
no people only discuss what they're interested in we aren't automatrons that can only function and discuss whatever's put in front of us plus, they don't have to watch the TV |

I can agree with hock here. But you have to admit, the CITY of Hockey is BUFFALO. All diehards in Buffalo. Unless you root for a team other than the Sabres XD
