I wish to be able to publish high quality images as decals without them being warped or scaled. This would be a nice feature for experienced users and inexperienced users trying to make their places look cooler and their Gui's better dressed.

It sounds good, but remember high-quality can cause lag, at least if used too much in one place.

Found that if you scale a picture to be 256x256 pixels it will appear to be higher quality, but not as high quality as the upload original image. It still appears to be lower quality/warped.
Full Size Image (Lower Quality, Higher on original file): http://www.roblox.com/Original-Image-item?id=89174932 ^^^May not be up yet.. Image mods are slow lately..

I do not understand how Roblox would do this. How would this be done?

@JakieMcCool, By not scaling down the file? keeping the original size. I run a website (Rain-Chat) it isn't that hard to keep a files original size haha.

@JakieMcCool, When an image is uploaded to roblox it is scaled up or down to a 420x420 pixel image. Thus warping and lowering the quality of the image. If you upload a 420x420 image, they still seem to lower the quality.

@malconer, also scaling the image in game decreases the quality and warps the image.
