Ever since version 2.5.3 there have been sighting of mysterious writing on the walls of various buildings across the region. These are pieces of a poem that reveal the beginning of the outbreak.
There are 16 pieces in all. Post the pieces you've found and try to fit them together!
Good luck! |

| The poem will piece together the start of the outbreak, which is it's own reward. (It's an easter egg, games usually have an easter egg. :P) |

"I carry the disease inside me now, I will not infect others! This I vow" - NE Military Airfield "The civilians are now all gone and the streets that they came upon" - Vernal "The virus quickly became widespread. I like bread" - Kin "We're full and bursting with the infected but alas, they were not unaffected" - Vernal "My best friend became infected, he was indeed poorly protected" - Yale "His family follow his step. The virus slowly and painfully crept" - Hark "I wrote what I know, hoping someone finds this. If you do see this, resist resist resist." - Pete's shop "Oh how my mind is starting to go... I can feel myself becoming a foe..." - Vernal "Militaries came to destroy the infected, but what they saw was unexpected!" - Factory "He became dreaded patient zero. It was clear to me he was no hero" - Commercial Airport "I can feel my mind slipping away faster. This will certainly be a disaster" - Torn "One simple man was all it took, I shall write my story in this nook" - Kin "I wrote once before, I shall do it again, poem is poems, to the never lasting end."
That's all the ones I found.
To me, this is how it all started: Since I saw the one about the first paitent in the Civillian Airport, I'm guessing that the guy who started this is from a different part of Earth, so he came to this region, infection most people. The infection quickly spread to Kin, then to the rest of the region. When it spread to Vernal, the military was called into to stop something they weren't expecting... Zombies.

Did I get it right? xD I need to find the other poems... |

The Start (Speculation)
"He became dreaded patient zero. It was clear to me he was no hero" - Commercial Airport (Most likely a "terrorist" or someone that volunteered to be infected to create a cure [it's heavily implied he considered himself a hero, or others thought he was] and infected the airport. If the theory that he was purposely infected was true [for the sake of a cure] that would imply that this was by no means the first outbreak.)
"I carry the disease inside me now, I will not infect others! This I vow" - NE Military Airfield (Most likely Patient Zero being taken into custody at the closest military area for further testing, resulting in one person infecting the entire base.)
Vernal (Speculation)
"We're full and bursting with the infected but alas, they were not unaffected" - Vernal (Another sign that Vernal was a safe haven, albeit one that was mostly infected. Probably made into said safe haven due to military presence, also implies that the disease is more than skin deep, causing confusion amongst the military between survivors and infected.)
"The civilians are now all gone and the streets that they came upon" - Vernal (Most likely to point out that civilians overwhelmed the military at the nearby airfield as no military zombies are there, either to escape the disease and go elsewhere, or in order to seek protection, or for brains. Either way this helps confirm that Vernal was a safe haven.)
Vernal Aftermath/Survivors (Speculation)
"Militaries came to destroy the infected, but what they saw was unexpected!" - Factory (The military probably fell back from Vernal after the likely disaster, and the factory was the closest area, albeit there is no proof as there are no military zombies.)
The Lone Survivor of Vernal/Infector of Kin and Torn (Speculation)
"Oh how my mind is starting to go... I can feel myself becoming a foe..." - Vernal (A Vernal military survivor, judging from the use of foe that was headed to Kin, and eventually Torn, spreading the disease to both places.)
"The virus quickly became widespread. I like bread" - Kin (Most likely someone from Vernal, judging on two quotes from "before" and after.)
"One simple man was all it took, I shall write my story in this nook" - Kin (A nod to our survivor from Vernal, reinforcing his long journey that went through Kin.)
"I can feel my mind slipping away faster. This will certainly be a disaster" - Torn (Our survivor from Vernal/Kin at the wheat fields at Torn because "he likes bread.")
Not Enough Info
"My best friend became infected, he was indeed poorly protected" - Yale (???) "His family follow his step. The virus slowly and painfully crept" - Hark (???) "I wrote what I know, hoping someone finds this. If you do see this, resist resist resist." - Pete's shop (???) "I wrote once before, I shall do it again, poem is poems, to the never lasting end." (???)
Someone find the two missing lines and I'll make another long post.
