Pop-Punk is more pop than punk, hence pop being first. |

Bull. Metalcore is more Core than Metal, but the Metal label is put first.

Yes, those would be punk bands. Personally, I prefer Celtic Punk/Street Punk, but I've never really heard any Hardcore Punk songs. Considering Street Punk is somewhat based off of Hardcore Punk I'd probably like it, though. |

We aren't talking about metalcore, we are talking about pop-punk. The only think punky about pop-punk is the speed. |

| Listen to some pure Pop. Katy Perry is nowhere near Blink-182 in any way, shape, or form. |

@Bethany
Haven't really listened to many bands. The main purpose of this thread was to hear suggestions.
@Devil
That's modern pop. Not all pop was Katy Perry-esque. In fact, pop derives from Rock and Roll. |

", pop derives from Rock and Roll."
And Punk has absolutely nothing to do with Rock
at all. |

It doesn't have to sound like pop-punk to be related to pop-punk. Pop is generally love songs, which is mostly what I find in pop-punk. |

Heh. It doesn't define a genre. |

It alone doesn't define a genre, correct, but it plays a large role in it. |

@Devil
Not really. A large part of genres is the ideas behind it, which are often found in the lyrics. |

@David
If I only listed a few bands then that would mean only people who listen to those bands would be considered real punk, whereas if I list a genre it clears it up more. |
