| Lets be real. China versus the Taliban. China would lose horribly bad like Russia. Why you think US is still in this rouge war? Cause it is a equal fight, nothing compared to Vietnam. |

Right now, North Korea has the world's largest military with over 1/3 of their population in either the active or reserve armies.
However, North Korea fails, so I'd rather suggest South Korea, who also have a larger military than China, good technology, not as much of the "starvation everywhere"
The United States is about 100,000 soldiers smaller than China as far as active soldiers. |

@Gerry.
You a lie.
Russia is more trained in any heat or winter. Even the special forces alone could take out China alone. |

@codeman
Obviously, that's why the two bordering nations have the two largest militaries in the world.
@People saying Russia could beat China in a straight up fight
Lol, not a chance. China has the population and production that no nation, at all, could invade them. However, China would not be able to invade Russia without at least 8-10 years of fighting. |

All things considered, China would be entirely war-torn by the time they ever managed to fully invade Russia and cripplingly weak as a result.
Invading one another isn't in the best interests of either nation, which is why they don't pick fights even though they've got a longstanding hatred of each other. |

| If Russia and China went to war. I believe it would last years and years. Yes China is a very huge military, but their production stinks. China would have full scale revolts against their military. |

China already has full scale revolutions going on within their borders, but to say their production sucks is beyond wrong.
Modern China has a larger production capacity than any nation in the history of time at any point. Even the huge kick-in of production the United States did in WWII would be nothing in comparison to wartime China's mass production.
Think about it, China does almost all of the production for not only themselves but most westernized nations in the modern world. They could easily use their huge money reserves they're acquiring to purchase materials from their already friendly trading partners, and produce enough wartime materials to keep an army going that was larger than anything any country except India could hope to match. |

I was referring to population sizes, not production, Hospitable.
India doesn't have any of the production or funding that China has, but they do have the population to keep an army going if they can get decent help from their very rich allies (Such as the USA, which has triple the GDP of China) |

Also, hospitable and code, check out a website called globalfirepower
It's got a very detailed and accurate list of the most powerful nations in modern military. |

I kinda expected USA, China, and Russia to be at the top. Surprised to see India at #4, though.

India's population is a huge factor in that.
Also, consider their location. They've barely got any shared border, and those borders they share are on highly defendable terrain. Amphibious invasions are nearly impossible, so essentially invading India is a slaughter. It's the exact same reason why Switzerland manages to stay neutral |

| *correction on that barely got any shared border. They do share a lot of border, but a good portion of their border is sea. |
