Hello players, in my real life i have been playing soccer all my life and i am very dedicated to it and love playing it with a passion. So over the past couple of days i have decided that after these current 2012 Olympics that im gunna work humanly possible to train like a mad man to get into the future Olympic games. If you were one of the 1 BILLION people watching the opening ceremony and saw how they lit the cauldron with the athletes between the ages of 16 and 19 represent the new generation of athletes and that touched me really good. Im currently 16 and by the time of the nxt Olympics i will eligable. There is one problem im not really well known which is my only problem. Please show some support for me and on my journey to get to the Olympics. I know that many may say "You can't get there, you'll never make it, you're awful" and i say SO HATERS ARE GUNNA HATE. But please show support for me and pass this message on to others please. Thank for your time of reading this message and please show support. Thanks and USA USA USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets give him the talk that the rock gives the little kid in the tooth fairy
alright
look
you're getting pretty good, right
"yeah, I'm the third best scorer in my league and I'm only 8, I play against 10 y/os!"
not bad.
now lets say, there's a 7 y/o somewhere, who's playing against 12 y/os and he is just KILLING them.
and in every town there is one of those 7 y/os
and only a handful of them will be selected to go to the bigs, leaving you in the dust.
now lets say you do make it to the bigs.
you're a rookie sensation, playing on your first professional soccer team
but then you're going for a goal when BAM! you break your knee and you're sent down to rookie league to recover
but it's just not the same
you never get back to the majors and you become a sideshow attraction for a minor league team in the middle of nowhere
(or something like that)
good luck though

TL;DR: He's your everyday American kid whom, like every sports loving kid in America, wants to be an Olympic athlete. Then, he will realize it's hardwork and get lazy.

That's the kind of talk that lost the Axis' WWII fire.

I to, wish to be a soccer player one day. I have my sights set on the MLS. Not England, or any other European countries, but the MLS, because I know that Europe is a LOT harder. I have been playing soccer for just 1 year, so there's not a good chance...But I will work all my life to become a soccer player, I wouldn't care if I'm playing for some kind of indoor soccer league! I just wanna play the game.

I'd say 75% of people who start playing sports at 6 make it 10 years in a sport

jimbobucky thats great to hear you say that i enjoy watching soccer but everytime i watch it on TV i just cant really enjoy it that much unless i play the game, everytime my dad asks me if i want to watch a match i decline his offer cause i tell him everytime "I don't want to watch soccer, i want to play it!" But i'll be cheering for u if u make MLS or not cause u love the beautiful game and thats all that matters so keep it up and maybe just maybe i mite see you at the Olympics if we both make, but never rely on hope cause hope wont get you anywhere its hard work and dedication but good luck on your journey and i wish u the best of luck my friend :)

if college: hopefully i play for a pretty good team and also get a good education (architecture or something. unless i got navy or air force :/ but then my mom would cry. idk)
if pro: hustle hard and make some moolah

it's pretty much your first 3 years of highschool that matter the most college-wise.
i will still try hard in baseball but grades will absolutely come first
colleges make decisions in like the middle of senior year, and if i get scouted then i'll need to keep my grades up so i can graduate

as far as baseball, it doesn't matter where you go to college.
They'll find you.
For other sports, its harder |
