I researched a bunch of stats for the United States of America and dug up some numbers by averaging and rounding off piles of stats from different sources. So, just to make this loud and clear... THESE ARE ROUGH ESTIMATES!

Total percentage of support/opposition for same-gender marriage:

Support - 54%
Opposed - 40%
Unsure - 6%

Main political parties and the percentages that support same-gender marriage:

Independents - 51%
Democrats - 60%
Republicans - only 10%

Support by gender:

Men - 48% out of all men
Women - 57% out of all women

Support by generation:

"Greatest" (<1928) - 15%
Silent (1928 - 1945) - 29%
Boomer (1946 - 1964) - 38%
GenX (1965 - 1980) - 48%
Millenial (1981 - ...) - 54%

Now, look at this section and tell me if it sounds about right...
--------------------------------------
From these statistics, the people in the United States who are most likely to support g@y marriage are young women that claim to be Democrats.

-Support seems to be rising by newest generation. Old people are most likely opposed as there's a good chance of finding young people who support it.

-Support is rising. Period.

-It's harder for men to support g@y marriage than it is for women for some reason.

-Republicans typically aren't very big fans of g@y marriage.

I do not, just like most Republicans. Why do I not support it? Because my parents are Republican Christians, so I am a Republican Christian. Since most Republican Christians do not support it, that means I shouldn't. Murican logic!

According to my parents, Jesus would come and send our representatives and government figures to Hell for allowing this to happen. Remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah? God got angry at the people for sinning (AKA being GrAY), so he destroyed the cities along with all of its civilians. Republican Murican Fundamentalist Christian logic!

Yeah, we people who oppose have the best reasoning skills! What's your reason, ShadowDancer0?

I know these are rough estimates, so I'll offer a couple possible corrections based off stats I picked up somewhere or another:

I would imagine that independent voters would voice more support. The purple portion of the electorate can be classified as pro-market state, and this State does not legislate morality or make any attempt to do so. Something to think about.

I also envisioned support to be higher among the younger voters. I've seen as high as the 70% range for that demographic.

And on a personal note, I support.

See? That's much better logic than "We aren't a theocracy".
