[ This will be the first in a series of horror ISRPs. ]
As your breath lessens its steady and your vision is rendered null by the sudden blinding light, and a voice begins to speak, your mind is silent and afraid.
" Welcome. "
" I have little to say to you, Danielle. However, do not process that as if I wish for you not to listen. You see, that could cost you your life. "
" There are three vents in the room, and the one locked door. You will find that every four hours, one of three tanks will begin to leak it's semi-deadly gaseous component into your little room, here. "
" The first is filled with Ethanol. "
" The second with Chloride. "
" The third with a liquidic Boric Acid. "
" ... If you can escape before this event, you will be rewarded with your life. "
" The clock is ticking, now. We have already wasted three minutes. "
" This screen will now revert to a timer, displaying how long you have left, to the second. "
What do you do?

Ha.
Such futile attempts to escape only bring pain, seeing as that the door is the same thick steel as the walls.
You must think strategically. |

The timer now has a large crack down the center, and your hand a pain.
The vents bend, but with your hurting knuckles, it seems implausible that you could break them. |

No.
Just the vents, the screen, and the door.
In frustration, you kick at the bent metal, exposing a broken shard of it.
In hysterical anxiety, you slide your back against the wall until you find youself in a sitting position.

| Examine the objects in detail. How does the lock work? Can one attempt to break it? What powers the timer? What holds the vents in place? |

This is a long-shot but I hope it works.
This my simple answer: Walk up to the three tanks, and turn them off. |

Oh wait the tanks are behind the vents aren't they?
Hmm... From what I've read those gases aren't THAT deadly so...Look if there is anything on the roof? Like a lightbulb? |

[ Well, if that is your assumption. ]
[ 11:42 ]
The lights in the wall are made of very dense glass.
The clock is powered by battery, but you have nothing to unscrew the back panel with.
The lock is simple - It just needs a key.
The vents are welded to the metal floor. |

No, the tanks are not visible.
It has not yet been four hours. Not one tank has begun to flood.
