Another terrible move on ROBLOX's part. It reminds me of the blog article they released on relevance related to demographics. The community reacted with utter uproar, completely outraged that ROBLOX automatically would stereotype their preferences based on gender and age. The article was quickly rescinded. I hope that will be the case now.
Here's the paragraph from the new notification.
"ROBLOX currently assesses a market fee of 10% when you sell an item you created and 25% when you re-sell gear created by another user. On Wednesday, July 25, we’re going to be implementing a consistent market fee of 30% across all users and transactions in our virtual economy."
This is simply ANOTHER bad business practice ROBLOX is using to get more money. They've realized that the overall value of robux has declined and, instead of taking positive measures aimed at giving users more to spend it on, they limit the rate at which we earn it. The users most affected will be the ones with the largest part of their revenue coming from item sales - in other words, the regular BCers. "Hey, buy TBC and you'll get more robux, tax free!"
Consider the next part of the message:
"This change will do a few things:
Help us continue to host your content on your behalf Set us up to add new features that will help you monetize your content Bring consistency to all transactions, so you can better predict your returns"
Tell me how any of these things could not have already been done without the standardization. I dare anybody to try. The closest justification I could think of would be for point 1 - they unethically extract more money from their base, allowing them to buy more servers.
If the rate should be changed to a universal, it should be set, fairly, to a 20%. Over the next 2 days, I anticipate a massive sell-off of limiteds that will depress the ROBLOX economy as buyers try to sell away unwanted items before the 5% hike. In the long run, items will have to be priced higher, as we will now earn 2 tix/robux less for every 10 tix/robux spent on our items.
Less demand, less revenue, will dramatically harm ROBLOX's entrepreneurs. |

I cannot tell you how fed up I am about ROBLOX right now. I wish I didn't get BC so I could just quit right now without wasting my money.

| Honestly, in the past, they've done stuff to hurt NBCers, but it's just pathetic that they're targeting their premium base now. |

ROBLOX Logic: "facebook and itunes do it too"
Common Sense: On ROBLOX you're selling something that never leaves the game environment and is intended solely for the game environment. Why should it be subject to the same fees? |
