[Don't know what Ecliptica is? PM me for a link to the info pad!] [This thread is intended to be a Test Run for the Ecliptica universe- to get a feel for how other roleplayers feel about it. Try to enjoy it nonetheless.]
THE STORY You are (probably) a member of an expedition from Celestial City, heading towards Lunarys. You and the rest of the crew are aboard a Hensiir Icebreaker Steamship. You are going towards Lunarys, the Cold Wasteland, vying to learn of its seemingly unnatural lack of heat. But soon enough, trouble will find you...
Currently you and the ship are within Tündraris, carving a path through the frozen ocean.
<> RULES <> Don't want to learn about Ecliptica? Don't join. Be kind and respectful to all fellow roleplayers. Do not uber, godmod or pummel. PG-13, please. If need be, Fade-To-Black is your friend. Use logic when deciding race. If you don't know, ask.

Arikold looked out over the frozen ocean. Their Steamship ripped through the serene ice. Although, the Jaerkins would argue such serenity. He himself was not native to Tündraris, but he heard tales of the Serpentine beasts that lived beneath the icy cover of the water.
Arkun.
As a child, his mother told him of the Arkun- that they came in the night and stole naughty Jaerkin pups. But when he got older, he heard the truth- or what they believed to be the truth. These snake-like monsters rode the undercurrents, slaughtering the graceful beasts of the seas. And some even slithered over the icy plane, hunting and murdering everything from bears to his own kind.
But maybe they were just myths.
* * * * *
Ka'Yisha gazed out over the unending ice they trudged through. "It's just so... majestic, isn't it?" she said, turning to her slave (and friend), Wyte. "I didn't know this much ice even existed!" |

Wyte "Quite. So much could hold the greatest beast. Hmm." I say. I take out some of the Poli and take a bite. |

Admittedly, Ka'Yisha couldn't see too far over the ice- it was near pitch black, but she couldn't help but be amazed by the expanse. This was really her first time outside of Celestial City- and she'd never imagined what a frozen ocean could look like, not to mention the perpetual darkness that cloaked the land. The only thing stopping the world outside their ship from being pitch black was the moon, Dalruss, that floated above casting white light onto the ice and snow. "Dad told me he's come all the way out here with you before. Was it any different than it is now?" she said, her eyes twinkling with girlish wonder. |

Wyte "Nope. Same freezing cold wind, same freezing ice and water below it." I say, as I throw some rotten Poli over the side of the boat. |

| Ka'Yisha kept her smile plastered to her face despite the negativity. "Did you and Dad ever go to Lunarys? I've heard it's impossible to live there, because of how cold it is- which is why we're going there right? It's like, too cold to be natural right? That's what Professor Harisson said, at least. He thinks it might be magic or something, right?" she ranted on towards Wyte. |

| "You're not being very talkative, Wyte. I mean... its beautiful, isn't it? A nice change of pace from being stuck up in the sky all day, I'd say!" Ka'Yisha says, excitement resonating through her voice. You'd never think someone could be so excited over a dark, cold, frozen ocean... |

Wyte "True, it does get crowded in the city, and it is nice to return up here. However, it's still dangerous, when you think of it.." I say as I take another bite of the food. |

| "Dangerous? I don't see anything out there!" It wasn't saying much. She did have dark-vision, but very little of it. If something was out on the ice, it's very unlikely she'd have even noticed it. |

Wyte "The ice itself is dangerous. Still, I wouldn't mind the water." |

| "The Professor said the ice out here would be a couple feet thick. I doubt either of us falling onto it would break through..." She'd have responded to his comment of the water, but honestly? She couldn't swim. Almost her entire life had been spent up in the sky among the floating buildings and airships. It was rare for her to even go to the city's lower tier, much less the water. |

Wyte "True, true." I say. I'm fixed on looking below the ice, or trying too. Maybe a creature down there. |

| Arikold's eyes swept over the icy expanse. There simply was... nothing. He couldn't shake his fears though, of the malevolent monsters that hunted through the undercurrents... |

| "Arkun. Are they real? I was born down in Boralia. Never been this far Lunar." Arikold's eyes expressed worry- worry that he knew what he was talking about. |

Argul drew a long breath.
"Arkun exist. They are not just fairy tales to scare small children. Though they do their part in frightening people."
He turned to address Arikold fully, knowing fully that the subject must be causing him worry.
"Though, with this many people, we're safe on the ship. The pieces of shkern aren't likely to come up onto the boat. Besides," he said, smiling slightly, "you're keeping a good watch." |

| Arikold glanced back out at the ice. "Back in Boralia, the tribes spoke of them as dark tyrants that ruled the frozen wastes with an iron fist. We were told our tribes came out of Tündraris to escape the powerful grasp of the Arkun... They're not -that- strong, are they, then?" he said, casting his gaze back to the Baerysun. |
